Are there any harder/stiffer dampers I can use for the Hurricane?

you've adjusted the spindle washers to give max pressure first?

Does anyone really think the "Adjustment" on the washers has "that" much affect?
Looked kind of bugus to me....:rolling:thinking

i know what you mean the washers that came with my plastic head were a bad joke it was hard to tell which side of them was supposed to have the raised surface.the ones that came with the cnc upgrade pack are a different story tho they have a mill maybe slightly more rise the same diameter as the feathering spindle on one side.face the flat surface to the bedaring for max tension.....failing that a couple of very thin shims that slip over the spindle should act as grip viagra :YeaBaby:

I'm wondering if this is why me grips have some slop. It's causing a problem with my blade tracking and I was considering upgrading to the cnc head. Anyone else see some slop on the grips? I can wiggle them up and down and there is no way I can wiggle my grips on my 450.

if you take the cap screws out that hold your main grips in each one has a washer thats flat on one side and has a lump/bump/nippple/round thing shit can't think of the word......the same diameter as the feathering spindle on the other thats about a mm maybe a little more on the other.because its the same size if you face it towards the spindle the bearing slips over it slightly relieving pressure on the rubbers.they give you 3 settings - both facing in minimum stiffness, one in one out medium, both out max.the amount of adjustment is bugger all really tho with both out mine feels all good........don't forget to threadlock the cap screws when you replace them

Well I am totally cornfuzed now! I thought the step down on the washer is for the grip's bearings to ride on? The dampers are really soft 'wiggly' and would like to get some stiffer ones. I am sure it can produce a much more stable hover but I want the heli to be more responsive with cyclic input. If someone makes one that would be great.

yip thats what the stepdowns are for.but when the bearing slips over it that increases the amount of distance between the two grips which means the grips aren't clamped on the rubbers as tightly making them spongier.turn them around to harden them up

Well, I am trying out a set from a Trex 500 stock dampers. They aren't round like the Gaui more square like. However they are not the same size as the 500 is a bit smaller but wider. There is a bit of slop inside the head however when you tighten the feathering shaft there is no slop as the dampers fills the gap. The grips and head are much more rigid than before. Will see how they work.
