We had a discussion at our club about which company was the first to introduce and began using the 2.4G technology for rc use. Was it JR or Futaba or some other company?.I think it was neither one of those but some other company.Help me settle this debate?

Spektrum RC was the first to introduce 2.4ghz for aircraft. The JR and Spektrum merged together.
Futaba came out with there first 2.4 ghz offering for aircraft a couple of years ago.
2.4ghz was being used as a ground frequency to control RC cars for several years before it came to the aircraft side of the hobby.

JR and Spektrum aren't merged, but they have a close working relationship.

The DX6 (662) and DX7 (7202) are JR radios with Spektrum RX decks, and Spektrum color and labels.

X9303 is JR radio with Spektrum RF deck and JR color and labels.

DX6i is Spektrum radio and RF deck.

Spektrum is owned by Horizon.
