9252's they are fast, strong, center and hold extremely well.
Besides, Harkey said they were good!

They are great but if price is no option try the 9350's.

hi,
I have 3 questions?
First:
im thinking about buying a raptor 50 for 3d in the future. Thinking about servos, Whats a good servos for it? I would guess the best bang for buck would be 9252 rite? But the high torgue isnt necessary I dont think. Or is it?
Another question I have is, can I just use my 3151 servo for the throttle and high speed for the rest to save money? I know the 9252 is 14 sec, and 3151 is... 20 something. Will I have a problem with pitch and throttle time matching up? 9252's are so pricey at 70 bucks a pop.
Last question is:
I see that mostly everyone use a governor like the gv-1 is it really necessary does it really improve flying that much? I been flying without it, but if it can make my heli stay put in maby the wind or so i would grab it.
thanks,
jamei

I would go with a matched servo on your thottle that way everything moves at the same rate. It really helps with a throttle curve if everything is the same. The governor end is just personal preference. I used to run one but I dont anymore.

I guess 4 9252's is. Just hurt to spend $280 on servos. I wonder if 9252's is over doing it for a raptor 50? 90inch of torgue........ I like the speed because if I want to do some serious 3d one day, it would be easier with 14 seconds rite?
Would 4 3151's be too slow for full 3d? Tic tocs etc...
thanks a buch for the advice

I just like them because they center so well and can survive a crash. Also rebuild kits are only like 7 bucks.

thats the one thing I was worrying about, surviving a crash. Didnt want to spend so much on servos if they wasnt gonna last.
The reason I was thinking about the 3151 was because mtahobbies was having a sale on them for 19.99 a piece.
9252 sounds like the smartest choice. I guess that leaves me with another option then. To keep my raptor v1 as a secondary helicopter or to dismantle it's electronics and move it over to the 50.
From the looks of it I have to buy all new servos's anyways beacause the ones on the raptor 30 are very weak (3 x S3001, 1 S3151). Purchasing another gyro and reciever should do it. Gosh, maby I should just buy the 9chp kit for $600. hehe
Lots of thinking to do.

Try to determine where you will be in a year, and spend wisely to achieve that.
A 50 size bird, once you've decided to move up is great, what if you want a 90 6 months later?
It would be wiser to spend the extra cash on better servos now, rather than to buy lessor servos now, and have to buy again to suit your (new) needs.

If you want a great non-digital servo that has been proven to be a workhorse over many years.
Then I will suggest the 9202.
http://www.ronlund.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=heli&Product_Code=FUTS9202
Ron has the above servo for $42. Even thou he can not advertise that price. He sells the servo for $42. The 9202 was the choice of servos in the Futaba line before the digital servos came along.
The 9202 is $27 less than the 9252. So that would save you over a $100 on a set of 4.
The 9202's will last a long time in a Raptor 50 and are very durable.
I used the 9202's for a few years in 60/90 size helis.
Also with the analog 9202's, the battery drain will be less than it would be with the 9252's. The current draw will be over half than what it would be with the 9252's.
Both servos are great servos. Just offering you another option.

Thanks david, that sounds like an excellent! option.
I currently have a 7 channel remote and reciever rite now. Do you think if i kept that one and moved it over to the 50, would it be suffieient for advanced 3d? Is there options on the 9channel that is needed other than the display screen? Because mtahobbies has the 9chp 9252 package for $580. But I like the sound of the 9202 and the less battery drain. But if the 9252 is really that great. Might as well spend the extra cash and get it.
Thanks for the options.

Get the 9202's for the 50 and spend the rest of the money on fuel and crash parts.
As for the 9C, the 7C will take you a long way. So go ahead and spend the money on fuel and crash parts. By the time you think you have outgrown the 7C, there may be something else other than 9C. Right now just burn fuel and fly. I wouldn't ditch the 30 size till you can't go any further with it and it is holding back your progress.
