Hi fellow pilots,

I am having a problem with the tail gear mesh on my E325 - it's too far away and I can't seem to find a way to get it closer (the tail is fully in). I know there's no real adjustment (like the main gear), anyone ever had this problem on his MT??
It does fly great (and holds tail superb too!), but every couple of flights it will "eat" a tooth away causing screeching noises and then I have to replace it... Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

I would take the frame apart, I know a super PITA. Then lay the tail section in each frame half one side at a time. Then you should be able to see what is stopping the tail unit from going forward enough for a proper mesh.

If nothing looks like it is holding the tail unit back you can at least see what needs to be trimmed slightly to allow a proper fit.

After some more visual inspection from the side (without taking the frame apart) it seems that pushing the "Tail Boom Bracket" till the end causes the bottom part not to be completely aligned with the top, in fact causing the "Metal Drive Gear Set" to be too far away from the tail gear itself. Of course I've tried not pushing the tail boom till the end but that's not really feasible and would just cause more pain in the long run...

Not sure if this means my whole frame is "bad", but for now I've just improvised and added a small folded piece of paper to the bottom bearing of the "Metal Drive Gear Set" inside the "Tail boom bracket", effectively pushing the metal gear forward a bit... Tail gear mesh is now exact!

Thanks

A few people have reported some flashes of plastic stuck inside that need to be removed for it to seat correctly
