does anyone know the lifting capacity for the Hurri?? asking mainly for a friend that's looking at it for possible AP work... would be a hell of a lot less money to get started than a Trex 600

The only things I've tried to lift with them so far were my Razor v3 cell phone (used it in video mode and it worked out ok). The phone only weighs 115g (which isn't much) and i could barely even tell that it was there. I was using (2) 2200 25C Kong Powers, the z20 980 with 500mm blades and 14T (stock gears) at the time and flew it for 4:30 with time to spare. No problem doing a loop and a few rolls with it on board, and the heli hovered fine and never overheated.

The other test i did was put another (a third) 2200 Kong Power Li-Po in the belly to see how she would handle. It "felt" heavy with that extra battery on board, but it did hover and fly ff ok.

Just throw on some tall gear and find something that weighs what his camera weighs and center it and test it out. That's the only way i know of to find out for sure.

Based on the performance of the heli with a decent setup, i'm guessing it can lift quite a lot.. but the real question will be at what price (as usual, the main issues being mAh's and heat).

I'm sorry that I can't be of more help, but i'm sure someone else will post with a better response.

don't know if its so much lifting capacity as flight time/temp mystic.i've had friends hold onto the skids while i've wound mine up to full throttle and the lift is unbelievable.possibly experimenting with 2 more packs underneath + extra weight and an eagletree would be the go.seriously the amount of lift they generate by itself would not be an issue

thanks... I keep telling him to just get a Hurri...it'll lift what he wants to use it for... as far as feeling sluggish or heavy... that's not a bad thing.. not like he'll be flying it around looping or rolling...

I asked the same question awhile back here:
http://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=53313

Check out the second page, there is a picture of the Hurricane lifting about 5 1/4 lbs of water!

Good luck,
Jason

That's a really really bad idea, the skids aren't meant to carry weight, especially not the full thrust of the chopper. When one of the skids breaks off, the heli will pivot around the other one since it's off center, and whoever's holding it is in for a world of hurt.

Excuse me but did I detect someone being 'normal' then? And, a fellow 550 person (Kahn) defending himself??? I will not accept sensible behaviour on this forum, we have never had it before and I can't see why we should have it now. If we start being sensible and normal how do you think the senile old f**kers on this forum are going to feel? All this time they have found that their senility doesn't seem to matter here, the mad ones think they are sane, the idiots think they are amongst friends and the foolish continue to amuse everyone with their nonsense. Can we revert to some sense of normality please (well, normality for the people here), a little bit of consideration would be much appreciated. Incidently, anyone tried razor blades on their skids yet?

Hmmm razor blades on the skids... could work for landing on ice... of course Bob doesn't know what ice is... except the little cubes in his glass

as Bob pointed out... here in the 550 forums.. we're....well.... a different breed.. we have fun.. and we all love our Hurri... it appears to be a Gaui thing... if you ever look in the Hurricane 200 forums.. you'll find many Gaui owners in there that would fit right in with this group of misfits...err.... outstanding members of the heli community..yeah, that's what I meant to say...

Right on Bungle Job. Senility doesn't seem to matter here with us normal folks.. at least i don't think so..
Does driving to the flying field with all the helis but forgetting the TX/flight case at home count as senility? :YeaBaby:
Naa.. that must be more like stupidity heheheh..
No worries though.. after about 15 minutes i called the wife to bring me my flight case.. (it took 15 minutes for me to remember her mobile number).. turns out it was speed dial #1. :wow2: :fly
BTW.. I would NEVER use razor blades on the skids.. that could be dangerous. As tail rotor blades maybe, but not on the skidz.. :)

People here do seem to be out standing in their field.

A bit befuddled. But out standing.

:noteworthy i was 'accidentally' inhaling solvents at the time.......temporary sanity? and while some of us are out standing in our fields others appear to be wandering in de desert after swimming thru de nial. and i think i've detected a couple of members out standing in their fjords........global insanity?:rolling

Wow....you must be talking about me...becuase I feel like a senile, idiot, mad, and foolish all at the same time.......now I know why I "Love it here"......I'm with my own kind...:hug:
