Got a DX6i with my Blade 400 and thought I would swap over my E-550 for the sake of simplicity...:arggg: I pulled out the Rx for the Airtronics 'Stylus' and put an AR7000 in the Erapi. The Erapi has a stock head and I flew it as a 90 degree swash set-up with the Stylus. Flew great! The DX6i has two selections for swash type...90 degree or 120 degree. Naturally I selected 90 degree cuz of stock 90 swash. Here is my problem...the elevator servo works as it should, but only one servo (can't say which one cuz its late and my brain hurts) operates with an aileron command instead of the required two. Checked connections-OK- checked software in DX6i and find with 90 degree selected, swash mix is 'inhibited'-Am I missing something obvious here guys? Is there a glitch in my radio or is this 90 degree set-up in the Spektrum different from the 90 degree set-up in the Stylus? Mechanical vs. Electronic?? Thanks in advance. djm

Do you know your reciever is working on all channels. I had a new reciever that the aux channel would not do anything. If you havent checked all the outputs then check them with servos to be sure they all work. I think you use aileron and elevator for your two servos.

According to this page http://www.rchobbies.org/spektrum-dx6.htm
The DX6i only have two types of swash: Swash type (Normal, and CCPM 120) ..meaning that you can not use the E-raptor standard 90-deg CCPM swash.
EDIT: from the manual
The DX6i offers 2 swashplate types:
One Servo: 90 degrees (standard mechanical mix)
Three Servo: CCPM 120 degrees
Select the swashplate type to match your helicopter.

Thanks newheliguy-That channel moves the servo in question when using the 120 degree swash type, so i am confident the Rx operates fine. Something to watch out for though!

Thanks Andreas-I never ran 'mechanical' setup in a heli before. I will have to assume then that this behaviour is normal in the DX6i and my options are (1)-go back to a two radio system. (2)-buy a DX7 (4 swash types) (3)-fly the Erapi in 120 degree with the 90 swash plate (can I do this?) (4)- change the swash plate in my Heli. Any other suggestions? Thnk you for your help----djm

Option 1 would not be handy.
Option 2 is best choice
Option 3 may be possible but i think you will need to do a custom mix
Option 4 is definently possible but only other swash is 140CCPM and you can do a custom mix (it is commonly done)

Hey Helicraze--thanks for the input. I rate my options the same way you do. The best option is the most $$s of course. I could do a custom mix (never have tried) but that would not be my first choice. Your comment there makes me believe there is no 120 degree swash for the E-550. I'm still wondering if the way my Helis swash acts when I select 90 degree swash in the DX6i is normal. I guess I am narrowing down my options here. -djm-

Yes it is normal looking at the above post that explains the Swash options.
For E550 its only 90 or 140deg CCPM avail. Even if you get a 120CCPM swash the fits, i would not work due to the geometry difference of the arms/twim pushrod thing.
You should still be able to sell the DX6i and get a DX7 for an extra $100 or something. DX7 will last, i have one and don't plan on upgrading it.
