Hi,
I recently got a second hand Synergy and it's my first 90 size.
I had a problem with hunting and vibration visible in the fuel tank. Had a fly about last evening and the GV1 was better. All I did was drop the headspeed down a bit to 1850. I'm guessing a bit - is that a reasonable speed for a 90?

When I got it I noticed a chipped tooth on the crown gear so replaced it. I fitted it with one shim (I read Chukies doc). Since then, after about three flights, I noticed a tiny bit of backlash in the mesh between the crown gear and bevel gear.
The crown gear has one shim under it. Can I fit another shim to close up the mesh? Any Synergy owners have any hints or tips please?

make sure your tail is inserted fully and everything is tight on the boom clamps/etc to ensure you are not seeing play from a slightly loose boom (or one which is not fully inserted); id also double check that the bearing holding the front drive gear for the tail is slop free (should be.. but doesnt hurt). if so i would shim one more to get zero play/slop in that crown gear.. i run a piece of paper through mine and if the mesh can pierce the paper then i leave it alone.. i can never see any visible slop in my setup.
probably other ways to do this, but this is what i do.

also -fwiw on the first flight of the day i put a drop or 2 of fuel on the crown gear.. after the fuel evaporates it leaves a bit of oil on there which i think helps longevity.. i cant prove it.. but again i have had good luck.

When I had mine I set the mesh so that the paper was tight going through but will not tear. Crown gear is the only weak link in the synergy to me but setup properly will last till you hit the tail. :YeaBaby:

That's a cool tip about the fuel for gear oil.
