Hi everyone
I'm in the process of setting up my belt with my new DX7. I have watched the finless CCPM videos and he uses a bubble from a spirit level, placed on the paddles to eliminate interactions at full travel.
Would this method still be applicable to the belt cp plastic head (sloppy and sticky!), or would a swash plate levelling tool suffice?
Cheers

Swash leveling tool will be better than the bubble level.

I use a swash tool and I hang a bubble level on the flybar to make sure it's level when I'm setting the pitch.

To answer your question, yes its the same.....
you really dont need to check from the flybar, you can get rid of ccmp interaction by simply making sure the swash stays level throught the Collective movement.. just make sure you flybar paddle is properly set at Zero pitch with the flybar cage and all that matters is the swash remaining level at all points in the collective.
to me using swash leveling tool for this is much better than the bubble method, because really if you think about it, what exactly causes the flybar to change pitch???? is it not the swash? :)

Really appreciate that info guys. Didn't fancy faffing around to much with that bubble method!
One more question. What is your method for getting rid of the interactions at various points of travel i.e. linkage/Tx adjustments? Going through it in my head but nothing clicks as I'm new to all this prog Tx malarky!!

vERY SIMPLE...
Level the swash with all subtrims at neutral in Idle up mode at 50% collective (mid stick)
From there move to full collective and correct any unlevelness of the swash with the end point adjustments on your servo's via the radio.
Do the same for Full Negative pitch... once thats done your done :)

Thanks again. Good to know I'm nearly there!
On a diff note, I've noticed quite a few of you who post on heliguy and some of you who don't anymore! Ive personally cut my teeth on the heliguy forum over the last four months, and I can honestly say they are generally a fab bunch (not saying at all that the regular helifreak lot are any different... Only my second post!). The problem I've found are those damn moderators- some of them need to get a life! But really its one or two people on the forum with a big chips on their shoulders. Can't believe how one in particular talks to people new to the hobby (think Dierwolf might know who I'm talking about!! Anyway, I owe the guys over there a big barrel of beer but its good to see some "old" faces!!!

It's been mentioned before here, most of the guys posting over there are great guys, but there is no reasoning with the mods there, and their practice of "disappearing" posts is just plain unacceptable.
Here at the Freak, if there's a problem, they let you know exactly what the problem is, and there is some discussion possible. No one just disappears with their posts.
Some of us here haven't been banned at HG and still drop by there to help the noobies once in awhile.

Never had any real problems there yet. Seems to me like a great shame that the guys that have been banned can't share their experience. I'm at the stage now where I'm starting to offer advise to people starting out, good to give something back... And that's a real good feeling!
Freaks gain, HG loss.
