Hey all,

Background:
Looking for some feedback from owners of the KP-11W6 KP charger. I just tried to charge two 3S1P packs at the same time. Everything seemed to be going ok, then at the end of the cycle I got a Low Input Voltage alarm. They stopped charging, I looked everything over, and then started the charge again. They only charged for a couple of minutes and then the charger displayed that the charge was done. One pack has 4.2v on all 3 cells, the other pack reads 4.17 on two cells and 4.19 on the other. So then I thought I would just balance the pack. But I can't find the "Balance Mode". Any suggestions?

I have looked at the manual and I don't see any mode that does JUST balancing. The balancing features of the charger only work while charging from what I can tell.

The manual for the charger is available at the link below for your reference..

Thats not true, when you are going through the menu before charging, select the option that says fast, then change that to balance. there is also fast, normal, slow, storage, and balance.;)

My answer was based on the manual as stated above and I linked to above. Unfortunately the manual does not have a section on the balance mode you mention. :-(

Yeah, you were right.....It is in the "Charge" menu, after you select the charging output, go to the "Mode" and use the up arrow to select normal, fast, slow, balance, and storage . I found it right after I posted.....it took about the same amount of time to balance a pack as it does to charge it at 1C.

I do have to say that this thing works great! Although I didn't like the way it charged two packs at the same time. One pack had a slightly lower voltage, but I'm going to try it again this weekend...

When charging 2 battery together you want to have all 6 cells close in balance.

I've got this charger too. Overall I'm happy with it. But I have a few packs that won't completely charge. Brand new 3s pack, charging at 1C charger says charge complete, 2 cells 4.2 volts and 1 cell 4.12. Try to recharge again and get the same thing. Hooked up the pack to my DN charger and it finishes the charge and brings the low cell right up to 4.2 WTF? If I try to balance the pack on the Kong it takes hours to balance a .08 volt imbalance. I have a couple of 2s packs that behave similarly. I've had packs that wouldn't charge completely and after finishing the charge on the DN charger they charge fine subsequently on the Kong. I'm just glad I kept my DN charger.
