Car battery charger as a Power Supply?

I just purchased a Hyperion Duo charger & 13v 40 amp power supply.

I was wondering if I could use my Car battery charger with the 55A "engine start" setting as an alternative power supply?

I don't think that would work properly as the charger is not well regulated or filtered and would damage your charger.I may be wrong,but myself,I wouldn't try it.When useing a running car for your charger it is well regulated and the capacitance inherent in the auto battery helps to act as a filter to give you smooth dc current.
