Anyone know who has this repair kit for a S9650 servo in stock? Looks like it's on B/O from Futaba.

Check out the nice e-mail reply I got from the Futaba reps in the U.S... it basically says "tough sh*t".

Thank you for your recent e-mail.

When we receive product from manufacturers is dependent on their production line. We are the Futaba service center in the U.S. We are not actually Futaba. Futaba is a Japanese company. We are part of Great Planes/Hobbico, which is the exclusive distributor/service agent for Futaba in North America. We have no control over when we receive product in.

Sorry, we couldn't be of more help to you.

Sincerely,

Wow! I thought Futaba was Italian or maybe a Cuban company...:DOH. Maybe I should've replied with "sorry I ever bought your products, switching to another mfr. now". I can't believe it. I flew Futaba and was loyal to them since I started in planks many years ago. And this is the thanks I get. Now I'm really glad I switched to Spektrum. I should switch my tail servo to a JR.

The gear sets are out of stock everywhere, but if you call the Futaba Service Center, you can order specific gears for $2 each plus shipping. I just ordered several sets of the #3 & #4 gears for the 9650. These are the most common gears that break in a crash.

Really? # 3 and # 4 huh? Why didn't they tell me this? I'm gonna call now. Thanks for the advice!

Might want to check and make sure these are the ones you need first...

No probs, I'll keep'em anyway. I ordered 3 of each. I'll check when I get'em.
Thanks beeflyer!

No prob, Beeflyer was right, I called Horizon directly, they're Futaba's US rep., and they sold me gear # 3 and # 4 separately. If he's right, it should fix it. If not, just gonna have to wait. Thanks for trying though, this forum rocks with the best people, always helping each other out.

Man these people are f-ing slow, I ordered those gears on July 2nd and I just called them. They shipped out yesterday, July 10th! 8 days later! Boy, that's some serious customer service, huh? Still grounded thanks to them.

Well, got the gears today, one was right, one was wrong. The smaller one of the 2 had broken teeth, but the larger was ok. The other one stripped is the other small on the bottom with the little cup in it. Oh well, this is a real patience test! Got a nice bottle of red label ready for tonight though! You know what they say, beer after whiskey is risky, whiskey after beer, have no fear!
