I gotta say, saw one of these cases on bugdozers 550.. and they are a nice piece. Had to get my own since it seems Gaui isn't planning on putting anything out there.. and as tight as I thought I had the plastic case it rotated on my first test flight.

don't forget, you need the bellcrank to go with the tail case. the stock one won't work.. you also need the tail gear and tail shaft

I also think it's a good deal...I also bought their cnc yoke and arms....full BB on both ends...the gaui still has plastic arms and bushings to the blade holders.....
I have flown it for a few flights and it works very good. I think the plastic has a tendencie to wear and the bearings get sloppy. I also don't think they use the best bearings as they have a little slop in them also that can translate to tail vibs...but overall I am very happy with the tail case, belcrank, slider and arms.... sent back the hub after all the bad postings about it breaking and using the stock trex

Except for the shaft I do have them thanks for the heads up. ;)
Refer to this page (http://www.cnchelicopter.com/cnchelicopterpic/55001122008/) for what works with what. There were some updated changes recently.

I used the stock gear and shaft with no issues. Is there something I don't understand?
Those Gaui metal tail grips suck though. CNCheli has a new thrusted grip set for the 550. I'll probably try those out.

I spaced the vert stabilizer away from the case using a couple brass tubes:

I got the CNC tail case and bellcrank from HeliDirect about a month ago. I used the stock pulley and TR shaft. I also added the Gaui CNC slider and the CNC thrusted tail grips. IMHO, it's pretty solid.
The CNC Tail hub and grips HeliDirect had problems in the past. I would call and see if they got them fixed before using them.

Yeah it is extremely solid. I just hate setting bearing pre-load/freeplay with the grip bolt and relying on loctite to keep everything together. Its also odd that one side of the grips are machined perfect, crank down the grip bolt and its just right. The other side is a whole other story. I did have to shorted the grip bolts to clear the tail shaft.
Bugdozer mentioned something about a new grip hub cncheli informed him about. Maybe he'll post up his findings if he received it.

Be careful of the CNCheli tail grips they suck. I bought the combo (CNC Aluminum Tail Rotor grip Set, slider and case) from Helidirect and the tail grips split apart on spin up. There is threat about it. I use the Trex 600 thrusted grips and they are great. Also I was not very happy with the slider and changed with the metal Gaui. The tail case is very good, I really liked it. I had up to know 5 crashes and it survive without any problems

Got the new hub from CNCHELI but it was only the hub, the new post is 4mm opposed 3mm on the old one. Looks much better but the factory shorted Jeff two bearings and the screws so I have to wait for the other two bearings. Went ahead and ordered the thrust version of the tail grips so I will see how that works.
Here is the pics of the new hub. http://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=66951 See my last post.

The newer grips with thrust bearings or the older style without thrust bearings?

That was back in February without the thrust bearing, so I assume was the old one. As said above there were a few people complaining about it.

We'll see how it goes for dozer this weekend. I really dislike the gaui pieces.

Hurri is not flying right now, waiting on new rotor blades and they probably won't show up until Saturday and I can't fly Sunday morning. May be a T-Rex morning on Saturday. Should have the Hurri tail set up though.

No tail parts from CncHeli so the Hurri is officially grounded but thanks for the offer. hope to get it together Sunday evening if the parts arrive Saturday.

Got all my parts from CncHeli and got my tail set up. I have both the original tail grips and the newer thrust grips as all the parts showed the same day. I'm running the thrust grips right now but there is a bit of play in them but it's minor.
Got the RotorTech blades too, nice.
