i lost one of the four canopy mounting screws while flying today. does anyone have an alternate idea on how to mount the canopy ?
something faster would be nice since the canopy has to come off after every flight for a battery change.
if no ideas surface, does anyone have an extra canopy screw i can have ?
thanks, darren

You can use a 3mm bolt and washer in a pinch.
Order extra canopy bolts is the only advice I can offer. I did.

HI Darren on the ION i use the double ball link that goes in the bell mixer for the from mounts and the regular screws in the rear part # on the ball links is #0113
I t makes for quick removal of the canopy to change packs
Chris actually showed me the idea

The 3mm bolt and washer is in some ways better because you can use a ball end hex/allen to remove it quickley.

The thing is once you put the #0113 in the front mounts they never get removed the canopy gromments slide right over them so you are only taking 2 screws out to remove the canopy

Bobby shared the double ball trick with me and it works GREAT for about 15 flights now. Thank you Bobby. You just locktite in the double balls up front (part number Bobby listed above) and only screw in and out the rear canopy screws. Use the Tempest style knobs or even better, the Ricko rear standoffs/knobs for ease of use. The canopy is easy t take onand off once you get used to opening it up to clear the double balls when mounti8ng and unmounting it. You just have to be careful and this trick works HOT! I noticed I think Chris had some medium balls on his but not sure. I feel better with the doubles.
