Yesterday, I finally had the opportunity to maiden my new Super FP outside. What a pleasure to fly! The wind picked up pretty good for a few moments, but the Super FP handled the gusty conditions very well. Of course, it's not all about the heli and I believe the pilot should get a little credit for his windy flying skills, as well ;).
I was very satisfied with the amount of heat generated by the electronics. After an 8 min. flight with an air temperature of 82F and humidity at 40%, I recorded the following temperatures with my infrared thermometer:
Main Motor: 116.8F
Tail Motor: 89.0F
Battery: 97.3F
Main Motor ESC: 92.4F
Tail Motor ESC: 85.4
Receiver: 83.0F
Also, based upon battery power usage, I can squeeze just under a 9 min. flight out of the 800mAh lipo. I currently don't own a set of scales; therefore, I can't comment on the heli's AUW at this time.
Just to reiterate the heli setup -
Main Electronics:
- ARC-20-27-80 Brushless Motor (4500KV) w/9T Pinion
- Pentium 10A Brushless ESC
- Tower Pro 9g Servos x 2
- Spektrum AR6100E Receiver
- Telebee HH Gyro
- Commonsense RC 7.4V 800mAh 10C Lipo
Tail Components:
- Super Boom Titanium Tail Boom
- GWS CN12-RXC Tail Motor
- GWS ICS100E/J 5A Brushed Speed Control
- GWS Tail Rotor Housing & Vertical Fin
- GWS 4530 Tail Rotor Blade
Frame and Head/Main Shaft Components:
- GuruZ Fiber Frame
- Walkera #4 Main Gear w/Main Shaft
- HBFP Center Hub
- HBFP Swashplate
- HBFP Rotor Head
- HBFP Paddle Control Frame (Outer)
- HBFP Flybar and Paddles
- 8 Degree Flat Bottom Wooden Blades
- Honey Bee King 2 Canopy
Thanks to my daughter for handling the camera duties even with a badly sprained right hand, which she used to operate the video camera. I would highly recommend viewing the high quality version of the videos.
