I don't know the difference except the channels... and its 170 more!

Really just programming functions, if you open page with both of the specs you can see the prog options that are different.
DX7 is something that will last, if i had a DX6i i could see myself upgrading in the future.
The DX6i looks like a toy to me, it even has snap in AA batteries!

1 more channel, which you will need if you go to a nitro heli with governor.
More programming options. More mixes. IIRC, more model memories.

Is it possible to get a DX7 standard model with the 4 servos and take the servos out? There 30 dollars each.

Some sellers sell without servos.
The DS821 servos that come in the standard setup sell for about $60 - $80 for the set of 4. I have purchased two sets for $60 each set of 4.
