I'm shopping for a new charger and have selected the 10s. I'll need to charge the Outrage 1300 6s packs and wonder if anyone has an experience with this combination. Cellpro does have a new adapter, just wondering if works for these packs. Outrage use TP connectors so it should. But its always check with your friends :)

Also, how long does it take in 3C auto mode?

Thanks

I would think that adapter will work no problem...as you have already stated that the Outrage line has TP balance taps...as for how long at 3S...don't know...have never charged my 1300's at anything more than 2C...

I personally charge my 1300 packs at 2C whenever I'm at the field and haven't noticed any loss regarding power wise. However, I haven't flow them long enough to tell how long they will last under 2C charging current.

I have the cellpro 10S and the adapter, works fine with the 6S 1300 packs.

Cool, didn't even know there was a subforum for Outrage packs. Nice!

Thanks for all the replies. Ash, are you charging using one of the auto modes? If so, which auto mode are you using? What is the resulting charge rate? On my 4s I use 3c auto mode, but the highest I've ever seen it run for any length of time is about 2.5c. Also, what is your approximate charge time?

I used the 1C charge mode yesterday, it ran at around 1A and was done in approximately 1 hour, I can't say I was paying that much attention to it unfortunately. I'll have a closer look next charge.

Well I figured out I couldn't get my outrage 6S pack to charge from the standard adapters so I spent some time and built an adapter from the original plugs that came with the charger and some spare FMA pigtails I had.

The outrage 6S 2500 mah battery I have had a double 11.1 volt line, so one line needs to be left out to connect it to the Cellpro 10S. The Cellpro 10S also requires that in a 6S connection you have to double the 14.4V line; so I had to connect the red wire from channel 1 and the black wire from channel 2 to the same source. I didn't want to use the 5-4S adapter so I simply wired two 6S plugs leaving out the unnecessary wires.

If you are looking to hook this up to the Cellpro directly you need to adapt two 6 cavity plugs (CPBP6P-10) to the two TP plugs that come off the battery (both a 4 and 6 pin connector). Hopefully you have the adapter plug that came with the battery which has the TP plug connections. The plugs I used for the cellpro 10S came with the charger (the 5 to 4S adapter boards ( CP10S-5S/4S-ADP). I just removed the wires by lifting the small tabs and then used the wires form the 5S pigtail (CPBP7) I purchased from FMA when I ordered the charger.

It did take a little soldering to the TP connection plugs but it was pretty easy. This took me no more than about 15 minutes to get together and I had to figure out the wire connections. So this should be pretty easy.

I was also going to order some parts from digikey but haven't had time to verify that the parts are correct. So anyways I hope these pictures help illustrate what I did.I used blue to represent the white wires in the pictures

Also, here are some part numbers from digikey, but please verify this before you buy as I cannot guarantee they are correct just yet.

These are JST XH connectors that were mentioned on a few other forums as FMA plugs.
455-1490-ND - FMA Cellpro 10S - 6 cavity - basically CPBP6P-10 with no wires
455-1325-1-ND - 22-26AWG TIN FMA Cellpro Connectors for the plug

P.S. Hopefully with more time I will remake this plug to be a tad bit more sturdy and streamline but for now it works just fine and didnt cost me anything more.

I checked my last automatic 1C charge on the Cellpro, it ramped up to 3.5A briefly then dropped back to about 1.5A for the whole charge. Charge time was about 50 minutes.
