Hi,
Can anyone tell me why the channel assignments have changed and what the advantage is? Is there any reason not to reassign them to the standard channels (if possible) ?
When I setup my GY611 should i use the Gyro menu or just use the ATV's? Could someone tell me the difference?
In addition I have a revlock can I use the governor menu also? If so why should I over the standard ATV's ?

Hi, Welcome to the 14MZ forum.
It is best to use the channel assignments in the radio. They are changed for a reason. The biggest is that the signals are sent in groups and in packs of 3. The 1st 3 channels will be all cyclic and that will allow Eccpm to work the way it was always intended. You can reassign the other channels without any problems, but I would recommend just getting use to the way this radio is in stock form. It will make setup down the road and possible mistakes less likely.
Yes use the Gyro menu for the GY601 or 611. No I do not believe the revlock will work on the Gov menu. You will find some info on setup in the posts at the beginning of this forum.
Good luck with the radio.

Thanks,
I thought there must be a reason for a channels assignment change but couldn't work out why.
Eric, I got a stratus and a 14mz, can i just copy your .mdl file from your website onto my memory card, will it just work, with a few tweaks?

The revlock will work with the GOV menu but if you are using the G3 rx you need to reassign the GOV function to a different channel, I think it has to be out of the group that hass the throttle signal. I use channel 10, and it works fine.

Yes the mdl on my site is very close to what I fly. Just check it over but it should be very close.

I don't recall but can you also change the channel assignments on the 9Z WCII to match the 14Mz
I have both radios and set the 14mz up to the defaults on the 9Z since it was already programmed for the birds.
Thanks

You can reasign the 14's channels as long as you are willing to live with some interaction in CCPM.
It's been to long, I don't remember if the 9Z can be made to match the 14 and still have the built in mixes work.

jambo,
Sorry I didn't reply earlier, was in Phoenix at a funfly. I am at work, so I'm shooting from memory. Go into the linkage menu and choose function. Change channel 10 to be the first GOV function. As I remember this is where you choose the switch that controls the gov--I tie it to the flight mode switch. (You don't need to change the assignment if you aren't using the G3 rx) The second function isn't used, so you can leave it alone. I think you need to reassign the original GOV channel (7 I think) so they dont overlap. Then perform the calibration as described in the instructions, and then proceed to the speed setting procedure. Go to the GOV menu and activate one of the conditions. Then, basically one side of center will activate the "A" range, so you move off of center till the RANGE LED lights, set the speed range, and then set the offset. You can also assign an on/off switch if desired. Then you can do the same for a second condition etc. Note that you don't need to use a different GOV setting line in the menu, the radio recognizes the change in condition, so theoretically you could assign the GOV to a different switch and have multiple speeds in different conditions. I haven't used this feature-don't need it, so I'm not 100% sure. Don't forget to switch from group to single so you can set different speeds for each condition. I realize this is a little sketchy. If you get lost, let me know and I'll do a better set of instructions when I get home and have my tx in front of me.

Thanks for the info - seems fairly straight forward. At the moment this is the least of my problems. I'm new to the 14mz and CCPM and having a very hard time setting it up!

Just what page of the manual are you having trouble with?
This is the answer we use when customers call in about the avionics equipment we sold them, when they say it doesn't work!!
The manual tells you about the channel assignments and why they are that way.
i really like my 14mz and using the www.14mz.com frq's. and programs/ links
