I ordered 710SB, but my LHS screwed up and I received plain 710s.
This is for a Raptor 90 3D. If someone tried both blades, can you tell me if there is a big difference between the two, especially for 3D???
Thank you!

On my Raptor 90 SE there is a fairly large difference between the two ... the SB's will roll and flip at a faster rate but won't auto quite as well.
its a question of weight.
Heavy blades take more energy no accelerate, but also the extra mass gathers more energy, which gives you more hang time in autos.
For flips and rolls, more weight generates more cynetic energy, thus it takes more enregy to change directions and work against giroscopic energy.
this means a slower reaction in cyclic .
Of course extra weight in blades also means ( not by mutch) extra weight on the heli. this means also more energy needed to move it in any direction.
all this extra energy needed and poor acceleration, can give you a hard time on the engine rpms. if you bog the engine in consecutive tic tocs, it will take more time to pick back up the rpm drop.
So ...yes. lighter blades (SB) are definitively better ( more responsive) for 3D . And heavyer blades give you more lift and better autos. Win some , loose some.
I haven`t used SB, but I`m about to get a pair. I`ll let you know.

I have not tried the SB's but have flown V's and Radix on my Tepmpest 90. Definate feel difference in the two, the Radix definatlet auto better the V's have more "pop".

Thank you for the replies. Sorry took a while before I replied, as I'm very busy with my new job ( full size helicopter flight instructor :) )
Anyway, I'm a bit dissapointed, and don't want to wait for my LHS to get the correct blades (they are BO apparently). So I'll live with blades I didn't really want. I'm probably not good enough to really see the difference, but still not the blades I wanted:thumbdown:

Oh I think you'll get over it. You can't go wrong with Radix.

;)Yeah most likely.
But STILL dissapointing to prepay for something and get something else.......

Hey...that's totally understandable and acceptable. Now you'll always wonder...just how good could those SB's be???

Don't worry ... if you are anything like me you'll be buying a new set soon enough anyway! :)

Personally, I prefer the regular Radix over the SB's. Yes the SB's are faster in flips and rolls, but they have less hang time in an auto. (Although they spool up faster if the headspeed drops too low.) I'm willing to give up some of that flip and roll rate to get the better feel in autos. Just depends on what you flying style is as to which version you'll prefer.
I found the stock Radix blades to give a very good balance between very good 3D performance and extremely good auto performance, so unless youre a Stick Banger (SB) you will really like the Radix. ;)

Well thank you for all the comments. Tomorrow should be the BIG day, We should start breaking in the engine. I still haven't received my muffler yet, but my LHS will let me use their TT muffler for break-in. MP5 are BO pretty much everywhere it seems.....
