I just found that my TX has the throttle hold/cut switches on the left and my throttle has a rachet. In addition my TX defaults to plane mode. Have I got a plane version? I have read the instructions and can see I can change the switches round and disable the rachet, other than this is there any merit in getting it swapped for a heli version?

there is no difference between the airplane version and the heli version except for the defaults. the rachet is an adjustment in the manual. the switches are moved to the location you desire, my 14 is a  n airplane version and the label is the only difference if you go to the 14mz web site this is explained in more detail. c-ya Ron

I have both a 14MZHP and a 14MZAP, and other than for the label in the front, you cannot tell either one appart. The only difference is that the ZAP has a spring on the ratchet that is not there/needed on the ZHP.

Sorta.....................
If your radio says MZAP on the front, than it is the airplane version. The sole issue that you might have to watch for is related to the throtte/collective center stick calibration. They set center stick at the factory with the ratchet in place on the plank trannies. What this means is that it unlikely that exactly half stick will correspond to exactly 50% as viewed on the digital read out, since the ratchet rarely lets the stick sit at dead half stick. In most cases, this slight variance in calibration is of little consequence. I had them recalibrate mine since it was off by a few percent.
