i have a venture50 with a 401+9253 and os50hyper. it hovers great and FFF really nice. my question is how come when i increase throttle during hover, the nose tends to creep to the left and sometimes when i lower throttle the nose creeps to the right. i only compensate or couner with the rudder. i have -3 0 +10 pitch and the gyro is set at 75 on my jr tx. what can i do to make the creeping tendencies go away? thanks

the creeping is somewhat normal but can be fine tuned to go away a little by adjusting your subtrims to minimize creeping. After this is done you may need to increase the gain on your gyro to prevent the drifting problem. I think this is your main problem as well. Increase the again until the tail starts to shake back and forth then slightly back off the gain. Trial and error for a few brief flights usually...

401 doesn't adjust out drift with subtrim. Telebee/Align/Eflite does.

You have to make SURE your heli stays perfectly still on power up so the gyro initializes properly.

Also check to make SURE yo udo not have any revo mix set.

My money is on this one. Simple check. Init the gyro on the ground w/o the motor running. The light should come on steady, push the throttle stick up, if the light starts blinking and the tail blades change pitch, you have mixing enabled that needs to go.

i remember reading somewhere that adjusting the rudder with the trims isn't good, that the rudder should be adjusted mechanically instead. is that true? or did i read it wrong?

Ya shouldnt have to use trim on tail if set up right when in head holding

With 401 trim is a no-no.

This is because the 401 reads the pulse width at initialization as center. So it you trim, then power off and power back up, the gyro sees the trimmed position as center, nullifying the trim and you have to trim again. Repeat until you run out of trim range.
