View Full Version : spektrum for cp
Has anyone installed a spektrum on the blade cp? If so, can you do it without getting new gyro/esc/brushless motor? I have it installed and collective/cyclic work but no power...

i set up my cp w/ an ar6100 on a dx6i. There is a setup someone did for a dx6, not the i, which will get you close. Something is lost in translation between the old and new radios. Or, i am a total newb douchepop who doesnt know what the numbers mean anyways. Either way, a bit tweaking is needed. Many times on many forums has the call gone out for some specific cp dx6i settings. I havent found them.
I got so frustrated i switched back to fm to see if i broke my helicopter:arggg:
maybe i should just learn how my radio works.

I recently converted my CPP to Spektrum: 6100 and DX7. I’m sorry that I wait so long. It’s made a world of difference. I had so many problems that turn out to be related to radio glitches. I read and tried to follow the info that has been post about cleaning the transmitter pots on the original xmitter. It only marginally helped. I urge you not to give up on the DX6i conversion. Here’s a couple of links that I had regarding cpp and dx6i. If these don’t help, let me know; I can post DX7 links that should help.

Hope this helps and that you end up enjoying the new feel of the CPP after it has been interfaced to a “real” radio.

Hey, I just put an ar6200 in my Blade CP+ with the DX6i on the other end. I read through quite a bit of the hefty manual and followed a setup for the DX6 (no i) with the CP Pro using the DX6 (no i) manual do translate some of it into the DX6i lingo. My problem is, though, that when i throttle up, instead of increasing pitch it cyclics forward and when i try to cyclic forward it pitches up. I've tried switching servos and reversing. AHH! Anyone know what's going on and what I should to? Any help would be very much appreciated, thanks.
Hey all,
We got it to work and it is a totally different heli. Used the DX7 and it flew amazing until dad didn't realize he was in idle up and drove it into the dirt while trying to cut throttle!!! Anyway, I highly recommend this upgrade to any BCP owners. cb

So...i am obviously not the only chump who cant set the radio up.:P
Perhaps after we get some solid base setups for the dx6i we can get this stickied. There have been a ton of b400 RTFs sold. You could also reasonably deduce that most b400 owner have or have had a cp, cp+, cp pro, or even pro2. So whats the problem here?
My guess is that the people who have the experience to hook this up are in the cool helicopter forums. I haven't seen too may pros or even good pilots flying eflite. DONT get me wrong, I love my blades. But maybe we should post this in the minuature aircraft forum. ha ha

I agree with a lot of that. If anyone who has gotten their Blade CP/+/pro/pro2 to fly with a DX6i could you please post your settings.

Quite interesting thread... somehow converting my cpp to work with my dx7 hadn't occured to me... What is everyone doing about speed controllers? Ditching the stock 3-in-1 alltogether?

figured it out. i have a ar6100e reciever, with a dx6i, on a cppro.
follow the guide posted above "spektrum direct from manufacture" or something, with the following notes:
pitch servo plugs into elevator. elevator to aux1
cp2=aileron swash mix
cp3=elevator swash mix
cp6=pitch.
thanks 4 posting the links. my heli flies awsome.:thumbup:
