This is the coolest little thing ever! I'm so glad I bought it. Readyheli rocks.
I'm getting together the rest of my gear for my new little 200 and I was about to click on "Checkout now" and had second thoughts about the HS-45's. Do I have to buy Hitec?
Does anyone have any input on the Futaba S3113 or S3114's for the cyclic? I guess just because I was ordering the S3154, I wondered why not Futaba all around.
Thanks in advance for your consideration.

Glad to hear you fell for the trap, now you'll be obsessing over tiny things like the rest of us :) welcome to the no compensation needed club.
About futaba servos for cyclic... I'm not sure, but I've always had great experience with hitech, and have had several futabas fail. I'm not sure about fit for the futabas... anyone know? but those hitech's fit in cyclic slots perfectly, and work flawlessly... I've had some hard crashes and never had any issues with them. Futaba tail servo however, is another story :)

Hey Jeff,
Awesome on the new 200, I am only a couple of steps behind you, getting ready to order mine tomorrow from Readyheli too!!
I would also like to see the response of the gurus here on the Futaba servo question, since I have not yet ordered mine.
Hey, were you able to bring up the Hitecs on the Readyheli website? When I go there, the Hitec micro servo page is like missing? It's a blank page?
I wanted to order them online with the heli, but I don't know now, I may have to go elsewhere or call them on Monday.
Good luck with whatever servos you go with....and I'll be right behind you!

Jeff,
Never mind, I was at the wrong section, I didn't realize that the HS-45's are analog servos...so the cyclic servos will be analog, and the tail (Futaba 3154) will be digital?
OK, I'm getting it now...
Thanks!
Glenn

I've used the spektrum dsp60 on the cyclic and the HS45. The Spektrums suck bigtime because they fail. I haven't tried Futaba on the cyclic but was thinking of using S3154s if they'll fit just for the "look at how much money I wasted" factor.

i'm satisfied that bert kammerer's setup (including hs-45s on cyclic, and 3154 on tail) is bullet-proof...the rest is up to me...lol...ken

HS-45 servos on cyclic, with 3154 on the tail coupled with Spartan gyro and Spektrum 6100 receiver. I have the wooden blades on this one and the carbon fiber landing gear. I also have the torque tube drive. For battery, I was flying the yellow GAUI 800 Mah 2 cell packs. The TP packs work very well too.

Thanks! I've been wanting one of these buggers since I first bought my Kinetic 50.
It's not that I have a problem with Hitec or anything. I bought HS65MG's for my 450SEv2 mainly because EVRYONE said they are THE cyclic servos to get.
I'm just a little quirky in that, I like to keep with the same "breed" if at all possible (Less stickers you know, LOL).
I'm planning to use a Futaba R617FS Rx, S3154 Tail Sx, a GY401 Gyro (unless someone can give me a good reason to entertain another, lighter one...).

Spartan 760 would be the ultimate and certainly the most $$ but, It's 10 grams and performs better than any other gyro out there. Logitec 2100 is 10g and is a good gyro.

Wouldn't digitals on the cyclic eat into your flight time quicker than the good they might offer? Just a thought.

Do you think the Logictec 2100 is as good as the GY401? At a third the weight, is has crossed my mind.

I am but not entirely faithful... ;) I have been looking into the LogicTech.

I had a 401 in my first gaui at first, and a 2100t in my Mini Titan (which worked great). I swapped them because of the size and weight, and actually like the 2100t better in the gaui. It's a bit more hassle to set up, it really wants rate to be setup perfectly in order for hh to work well... unlike the 401. But once set up, you can adjust travel in both directions, and seems to hold even better than 401. Don't get me wrong, 401 is awesome, and I still use them for my bigger helis, but for a heli this small, every little bit of weight counts. Mind you I'm not doing any crazy 3D or anything, so can't compare the 2 under extreme conditions, only under stupid finger conditions, and the 2100 worked great enough for me to put in another one in my second gaui :)

Welcome to the addiction and the best, most friendly and most entertaining sub-forum on HF
With regard to cyclis servos, do as you did with your T-rex 450 - get what everybody else uses, - the HS-45 - and never look back. :)

I took a chance and went with Dymonds for my cyclic, I'm very happy with them, but I worry about parts and spares. On the other hand, you simply will not go wrong with the 45's!
As far as the gyro goes, the 2100 or the Spartan, hands down. I've got two 401's love 'em, but way to heavy IMHO. I went with the 2100 and the 3100 tail servo. (No Spartans back then...) They're light and work freaking great.
The 2100 is the best bang for the buck and the best match for the 200, just get ready for the absolute worst manual in existence. Finless did a setup vid on the 5000 though, which is the same firmware, so no problem.
I you feel comfy with the additional $100 or so, and can wait a while to pounce when the "in stock" flag turns green, I'd get the Spartan, for sure. That will be MY next gyro...

Thanks to all.
Yes, the Hitecs are a safe bet. But I think my fellow non-conformists will definitely raise an eyebrow at me if I do that twice...
I'd still like to (hopefully) hear from someone with Futaba experience before I just pull the trigger on the clear servos...
And it's starting to seem like a Korean Gyro is in the cards for this critter.
How is the 3100G Sx? Is it worth the extra bucks and weight? I see it's faster (and weaker) than the S3154.

Ecklund, I have the 2100/3100 combo as well and it holds the little Gaui great. This combo is being marketed at Mini Titans and 450s so don't worry about the torque, it should be more than enough. I might need some confirmation on this last point but i believe there are 3 modes for the 2100, Analog, Digital and Digital Narrow pulse. I'm certain that the 3100 will only work in this mode when connected to the 6100/2100 gyro and i think that you can only use this feature on the Gyro when its connected to a 3100/6100 servo. Bottom line is if you want the best out of the Gyro you have buy a Logictech servo. I'm not sure if the Hitec varient has locked this down and there seems to be an Align varient also.... maybe its a Hitec in an Align Box.

Not enough to where you would notice it IMO. That seems to be a pretty big misconception that digital servos really eat up your flight time, which from my experiences they don't, but I'm no Bert Krammer (yet ;) ).
