Doesn't sound far fetched. And wider frames mean more flex, not less.
It doesn't sound like an upgrade is possible?

ok, it was tested by szabo and you all saw the test footage. if they're not having problems with it, then fly it. everyone is so concerned about 'upgrading' their heli that they lose sight of ACTUALLY FLYING

How does anyone know what is flexing and what is not flexing in flight on any heli? Can they actually see it happening? <G>

wider frames mean more flex?? I would think wider frames would mean less flex, to a point.

It's probably just an unsubstanciated comment from an Align basher. Wait and see for yourself before jumping to conclusions. The 700Ns are barely even released. How would anyone know of a problem already? It's not like Align doesn't test their prototypes before hitting production. Certain people tell me my 600NSP is junk all the time, but so far it's a great heli, even for a beginner like myself.

You know, you can tell just by how the comment is written that this must be a reliable source... :P

Its also from the Aurora forum... So this is completely unsubstantiated?

Probably. You know how the brand X loyalists (could be any brand) are when a new model comes along. They start to feel threatened, so they come up with claims to make themselves feel superior because they have this or that model.

Not to mention that the comment has been deleted at this point. Interesting. ;)

Well the comment is still in the first post of this thread. Unless the person that started the thread decides to delete the comment. It will still be there just as he originally posted it and shows who made the comment. Seems like a cowardly move to delete a comment when someone else has already quoted it. <G>

It always amazes me how people knock a design even before the public has it! Lets see, the Vibe 90 only has 2 bearing blocks, who's knocking that design, err no one!
Do you really think that there is going to be flex introduced into the frames? The only place the main shaft could flex is where it enters the top bearing block, but this is the same for all heli's! It's the largest area of unsupported shaft. That's why it often bends on impact with the ground! But it doesn't flex in flight so how the hell could it flex below this point? If it's not flexing below this point it cannot mis-shape the frames, the box section is very strong and the frame is supported both longitudinally and latitudinally, try bending a frame out of shape with and without the mainshaft, you wont!
The main gear touches the bottom bearing block, that's not going to flex or move from the drive pinion.
I put this down to armchair critics (those that don't really know what they are talking about!)

Nice Toaster12... very good points +1.
For me the decision comes down to what I can find parts for readily and relatively cheaply. Its the main reason I bought my 450 and my 600. There are 3 hobby shops within a 1/2 hour of me that stock parts for both. All three also stock the TT Raptor line but *I* thought the Align product looked like a better/nicer design Same thought goes for me with the 90 class machines, not a lot of "on the shelf" support for other 90 class Heli's, at least in my neck of the woods. So when the time comes and my wallet is willing I will likely go again with what I can run to the LHS and pick up that odd little part for (or several) when the time comes. Mail order is great but sell me on how great it is when you bust a part on a Saturday and wanted to fly again on Sunday. In the end everyone is going to fly what they like and suits them best. My 2 cents.
Chris.

Dont believe everything you read. That's the problems with forums to some extent. The 700 will be an exceptional value and if you dont think Krause thought about the frames you would be kidding yourself. Always remember "The grass always appears greener on the other side of the fence".
