The 600 and 700 are similar in size. The boom is longer of course on the 700.
Basically emulating a 700 but in a 600.

to stretch out the 6 into a 7. several guys on here have done that. get the longer boom and slap some 690's or 710's on it. i have only seen it done with the 600e though i dont think that the 50 size engine would have enough power.

The question still hasn't been answered. Does the Align boom for the 700 fit in the 600 boom block? It would be neat and could be an easy way to upgrade the 600e to a 700E.

Could someone measure the diameter of both?

mk1spitfire,
The following was posting from another topic:
http://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=77332
J3DI posted:
Trex 600 Boom = 20 x 21.5 x 625
Trex 700 Boom = 20 x 21.5 x 785
and
"but the good news is that the 700N Torque Tube has the same end fittings as that of the 600."
Thanks
Holy crap:shock:
Very, very tempting:YeaBaby:
700 boom,tail, 690 blades and bingo, a full blooded 90 size.
Anything i miss out here ? It probably opens up for using larger batteries
since the disc loading will be very low with the 600 weight (less than 4kg as converted)

Will the 50 handle it while banging it around? Hmmm.

I have been contemplating it. I just might do it. Go with a 12s setup and 690s. Need an hfx frame though.

That means that "we" can put together an T-rex 700E even when Align "refuses" to?
Very, very interesting, indeed.
That must be good news for the AP guys

Yes, and as soon 700 parts is showing up in the market I can be your test pilot once again:lol::P

I will be looking forward to that, my Norwegian friend.
A T-rex 700E 12s setup. :noteworthy :banana
What blades are you planning to be swinging?
Btw,- is it for 3D or AP (or something completely different?)

Hei Peter
It will be for 3D:thumbup:. I am not the first one to convert(Misskimo have done it for 3D a long time ago, and Bullaculla for AP), but it will be more easy for the "average Joe" as me:oops: when the part is available without a lot of mikk makk and modification of different brand parts.
I intend to swing the 690 blades and then preferably either the Radix or V-Blades which have 12mm root.

OTA - with the same battery, and ESC setup as in your signature, I guess?
(I already have Zippy-H 3300mAh 6S for my T-rex 500, so they could be reused)
What about flight time? What do you expect?
How is that Tango 45-07 handling the 12S setup?
Damn interesting project.
Peter
Yes, the same stup as previously is the intension.
About flight time, i really dont know, but i will assume that i can expect the same as my 600 setup ie. somewhere between 5 and 6min with the 3300 packs as the efficiency will increase with larger disc, lower gearing and less HS.
Further i will assume that the heli will be less sensitive for weight with the 690 blades so i can step up quite a lot in pack size if I want to.
Anyway, the Tango 45-07 is running strong and cool:thumbup:. No signs of problems running it on 12S so far. Actually, it have been the most fun when i use my Evolite 2500 packs. The light weight gives the heli an insane power to weight ratio. However, the Evolites is slightly borderline in C rating (heat issue).

Sweet! I'll be looking forward to your reports. I have an extra HFX frame sitting around. I didn't like it with my 10s because I thought there was a little too much flex in the frame causing problems with the gear mesh. I didn't brace it, like I did with my 6s HFX setup. I'd be willing to put it back together for a possible 90 setup. We'll see!

whats an hfx frame?
Bob did a build vid on this frame a while ago
http://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=48072
I think is the Heli Freak Edition frame, base around the T600E with the motor on the top which allows you to use bigger motors, and I think is had a direct link to swash plate and not push and pull, I can't remember, but check out the build vid.
Thanks

I can confirm that the 700 boom does fit the 600, and the 700 TT is almost the same length as the stretch kits I make. The 700N boom does need to be cut down a little and the key hole needs to be reshaped. Other than that, its a perfect fit. I will be test flying mine tomorrow. I got a bunch of 700N parts in the mail today :D
Here is a quick pic of my stretched birds using the Synergy N9 boom and Rappy90 CF TT, the 700N TT is just a tiny bit longer, but the N9 boom is really thick and rigid compared to the thin wall Align alloy boom.
check sig for details :)

most of the guys flying around with my kits are running 12s systems.
Pics of the 700N stretch kit on the 600 tomorrow.
In the meantime, watch this video to witness the lift capability of a stretched 600 on 10s :D
AUW was just under 20lbs  flew for a solid 6 minutes, and used 3000mAh.
