The 2008 Rotary Ring Out will take place in Owatonna, Minnesota. Event dates are August 22-24th.
Please note the field location is the Owatonna RC Modelers club, not the SMMAC field which hosted the event from 2003 through 2006. Unique circumstances have brought the Rotary Ring Out back to its roots. The Owatonna RC Modelers hosted the event for its first two years in 2001 and 2002.
Although the Owatonna RC Modelers field is smaller than fields used in more recent years, you can expect to enjoy great flying, an awesome raffle, great food (including the Saturday night BBQ), on-site camping, night flying, a bonfire and great friends.
Make plans now to come and fly at this "Classic" Rotary Ring Out, now in its eighth year!
For more information visit the event website: www.mrcha.org (http://www.mrcha.org) (look for the Rotary Ring Out link).
Pre-registration is now open!

Some have asked and I want to verify, YES, camping is available on site at the Ring Out.
Also, preregistration is now open for the event. It's a great value at $25 for all three days. With registration you get a 2008 Rotary Ring Out T-shirt (valued at $16) and a $5 raffle ticket. When you preregister, your fees will be reinvested into better raffle prizes and pilot amenities. And you save $5 when you register prior to arrival.
Check out www.mrcha.org (http://www.helifreak.com/www.mrcha.org) to see the 2008 Ring Out T-shirt, to preregister and to find out more about the event.
Thanks!

Todd Bennett will once again be offering his 3D class at the Ring Out field August 21-22nd.
Spots are available for this most worthwhile class. Cost will be $350 plus expenses. You will learn proper setup, safety and flying technique. Todd's classes include buddy box time to accelerate your learning of advanced maneuvers.
I've heard it said that you could spend $350 on a new gyro or better radio and it wouldn't improve your flying as much as a couple days with Todd Bennett's class. His techniques may even save you a crash or two!
Find out more about the class at www.freestyle3d.com (http://www.helifreak.com/www.freestyle3d.com).
Please reply or send me a personal message if you would like to sign up for the class.

Be sure to pre register for the Rotary Ring Out. It will save you five dollars and help us better plan for the event.
We realize you might want to register for the event right now and make the decision about camping at the field at a later date. No problem. Register now as a non-camper and sign up for camping at the field at registration on the day of the event.
We look forward to seeing you there. Register now at www.mrcha.org (http://www.mrcha.org/)!

It's coming up quick! Open flying at the 2008 Rotary Ring Out begins the morning of Friday, August 22nd and continues through the weekend...
A few notes:
Be sure to bring your own power source for battery charging. Generators, deep cycle batteries, etc. are all okay. Regrettably, 110 volt power is not available at the field. You may be able to borrow a few amps from someone else's power source but there's no guarantee. Best to come prepared.
Drinking alcoholic beverages and flying will NOT be permitted or tolerated.
Drinking alcoholic beverages after you are done flying for the day is just fine.
Fireworks will not be permitted at the field.
A bonfire is planned for Friday and Saturday nights.
Night flying is strongly encouraged!
Be sure to bring your AMA card.
The pilot raffle is shaping up to be a good one! Look for a quality 8-channel 2.4 GHz radio and a T-Rex 500 kit along with many more prizes. Stay tuned for prize list updates.
Get more details and register online at www.mrcha.org (http://www.mrcha.org) .
See you at the Ring Out!
