Does anyone have experience with the new align servos ?
No but experience tells me to only run Align electronics if it came with the kit and only until it burns up. I don't think Outrage will be packaging Align servos with their kit.

I thought you were going to pass on it for a few months. ;)

I have some used 9252s I'm going to use. A bit on a budget.

I've been kicking around what I run on this heli.... Think about this...
Keeping with the spirit of high voltage low amp draw (like the G5) I'm kicking around the idea of using a 10s setup. Now hear me out before you "Jeremy has lost his mind". If I can get a Lipo pack around 700-800 grams and a mah of around 2600-2800 running a 10s setup would really work well. I don't know the gearing on this heli so I can't start matching components, but I think it could be done.... CC85-HV ESC.... Hummmm......

First set iam going to try is the Align 610's
i will compare them against the Inolabs
I have one of my guys flying these and he said they are flawless after 70 flgihts
I still thinkg the Ino and the Align is the best chioce for speed and torque
10s would be crazy for sure might as well Stretch it and throw some 600mm blades on it ( who said that:))

Just got back from the field, 30+mph winds, and Steven flew two batteries in the 550, it handled the wind perfectly.

I was wondering if any electronics expert could explain theory to me. Charlie said that my NEU 1515/2.5 1650kv will be too much kv for this heli.
My question is, if I ran an 80 percent flat throtle curve, what kind of issues would that create with my Align 100 amp ESC? Thanks. Matt

The problem with that is they don't sell or make a pinion small enough. You will likely build up to much heat in your ESC trying to throttle it back. Also, I don't think that Align ESC likes anything other than 100% from what I've been told.
You looking at 2480ish on that setup.... I say don't do it.

What do folks think about this combo:
Kontronik Jive 80-HV
NEU 1907-1.5Y
Outrage 8s1p 4200mah 25C or 30C (Brick)
What sort of runtimes do you think I could get out of that doing light 3D and FFF?

Since the team pilots are the only ones with the machine for another week and they have only flown them on 6S, some of you guys that have said your going with 8S will have to let everyone else know. :)

Hello All,
As one eagerly awaiting the 550, I was just wondering why the Scorpion ESCs were not among those recomended since there aer 2 Scorpion motors that are recomended.
Just a thought....thanks
Thanks, George

I don't have any experiance with scorpion esc's, but after looking at the customers review on helidirect for the 90 amp esc, it says that they catch fire on startup. The guy who wrote it have had 2 of them.
If that's the case, then it's no good;)
But as I've mentioned, I have no experiance with it.

I have a scorpion 55A esc on my Furion, and it gets HOT. I simply wouldn't risk a heli this large on their esc.

Outrage is making the pinion gears for the 550. We have them on our order. I was not sure if the other brand pinion gears would fit as the motor mount assembly is alot different than other helis, so I will wait on the outrage pinions. In addition the Outrage pinions are the ones being tested/used by the Outrage team.
