Hi,
I've got a JR X9303 and I fly thumbs, this works great for me however around center stick it could be a little less sensitive.
The 1st menu on the radion will get me into:
D/R & EXPO but what do I change there ?
I've got one other thing in the radio of which I don't know it's funcion and that is:
Swash Mix > inside this menu there is an EXP function which is currently turned of, what does it to when I turn it on?
Help is much appreciated
Grtz,
Nick

Nick,
The D/R, Expo menu is the one you want to be in for the sensitivity around center. You want to change the Expo percentage. I generally fly with 20% expo, but you can go anywhere between 20%-30% and see what you like. You might want to only run it on the Aileron and Elevator and not the Rudder, unless you feel you need it there, too. You can actually set the Expo of Norm. switch position and then just tie all the others to that, too.. make it easier and then you'll have the same expo on all flight positions.
As far as the swash mix.. if you turn ON the Exp you'll smooth out the travel in your cyclic and collective inputs. Generally it's best if this is ON. It's just like adding it to one of your throttle or pitch curves. If you turn it off, the curve will become jagged. If you turn it on, the curve will smooth out. That's what this does for your swash mix as well.
If you need any more help, feel free to PM me and I can walk you through whatever else. Hope this helped.

The Swash EXPO is clear, now about the D/R, Expo menu. I only want to adjust AIL & ELEV.
I've got three positions: Pos-0, Pos-1 and Pos-2.
These positions have a D/R value and a EXP value, my guess is I need to change the EXP value from LIN to a certain %.
What percentage to I set for which Position?
At the top right I have a AUTO Menu, what do I set there?

Try changing LIN to +15 to +25 adjust to suit.
The 0, 1 is a switch position, look at the Ail d/r switch, you will see one direction is 0, the other direction is 1.
You have a flexable radio, you can set it to the flight modes where one flight mode has one expo or dual rate where another has a different one etc.

Swash EXP is to change is to dial out the non-linearity of the swash servos, because the servo horn is round, it moves up and downmore for angles neat cengter, and less pout at the extremes. I find it makes the collective less twitchy.
If you have already done your setup, you will have to recheck your pitch range. I hd to add about 10 to my pitch swash mix.
The other expo (Ail, Ele, Rud) changes the curve to an S curve. + numbers make it less sensitive in the middle range, but full travel is still available.
You can use as much as you are happy with. Normally on helis you see people running 0 - maybe a max of 35. But you can run more if that works for you.

Thanks, I think I got it now, I set EXPO on 20% on AIL & ELEV for all modes and set EXP on ACT in the swash mix, I didn't increase the swash expo since the travel was to big so now it should be just about right.
While I was at it I also activated EXPO on all Throttle curves :)

Expo on the Pitch and Throttle curves smooth out the transitions. So that instead of sections of straight lines, you get smooth curves.
I don't run it. But I run pretty simple curves.
