Hi guys,

After reading all those post about the failures of the open tail rotor gearboxes i'm just curious if there also people having no problems with it?
And what about the ones that come with the latest Stratus kits, should those be better?
I'm thinking of getting a new stratus kit but i'm just a little scared about that tail gearbox, i wouldn't like to crash it by a stupid tail rotor gearbox failure!

Best regards,
Gio.

Well lets see, there has been over a 1000 of the open gear boxes sold. That is individually and the ones that were included in kits.
Lets say out of the 1000, maybe and this a big maybe, that 50 have had problems.
So that would mean there is still a huge majority that are being used with no problems.
I go to events all the time and see the open gear box in use. They are being used by types of pilots with no problems.

No probs for me!
i touched several times the ground with my tail rotor, its the crown gear that failed! the tail gears are still doing their job :)
