I have a Cypher 3D, which I think is a great little heli especially given the price. I haven't seen many threads about them, or any tips, so I thought I would start one.

The first issue I have found on my heli is the looseness in the head and some of the linkages. The worst on mine is the washout. After looking into the problem, I found that some of the little sholdered bushings are a touch longer than need be. With this small heli, a thousandth of an inch makes a lot of slop. I disassembled the washout arm from the base, and then the swash link from the arm. At this joint there is an inner pivot which looks like a tophat and an outer bushing. The inner pivot is purposly longer than the outter bushing. On mine, it was a bit too long. probably a thousandth or so. I simply honed the small end down little by little until I could reassemble it without bind or slop. Doing this to both arms considerably reduced the play in the paddles. This should result in a more solid feel on the cyclics.

Other issues I found right off are the washout base clearance to the mainshaft. I havent devised a solution for this yet, but give me time. Also, the swash bearing has a fair amount of backlash. I suspect a new bearing would help it.

Post your tips for the rest of us to see!

I took mine out of the box, built it, and agree, the head had a wobble in it. I thought the spindle was already bent, but disassembly found nothing. I am checking the bearings. Fustrating because it has not left the ground yet.

Mine is a rocket ship on old worn out Flightpower batteries. I went through the links and the mixing arms, tightened everything up including the ball links and this thing is a gas to fly.
