Is there any reason to choose the Spektrum 7100 over the 7000 on a Logo? I was thinking of the 7100 as it has the build-in voltage handling down to 5v, as well as the 8v output. But then I got to thinking that it really is a mater of what the V-Bar outputs, yes?

Or is the 7100 still a reasonable choice?

Isn't the 7100 the unit at the moment with all the antennas falling out due to cold solder joints???

Personally the 9000 spektrum or the 921 JR are the best choices imho. Reason being it has the 2048 resoultion ability, most robust powerbuss on it and best range.

Hadn't heard anything line that.

Well, what radio's are 2048? Is the DX7?

I guess the question should have been more clear in asking if the V-Bar hardware can handle the 8v output of the 7100, and output that 8v to the servo's.

According to the user manual the Vbar has an absolute maximum input voltage of 7.5v and warns that exceeding that number may cause damage.

The only thing 2048 is the x9303 with the 921 or 9000 reciever

Thanks. I haven't got my unit yet, and was having real trouble finding a PDF manual. So it looks like the 7000 is the way to go. No need for the 7100.

Click on the "downloads" link and then down near the bottom to the "documents" section and you can download the pdf file for Vstabi

One of the new spektrum receivers has had at least 4 cases of antennas falling out due to bad joint, i read it in the main forum

In this case the manual is conservative. Please refer to

You will notice that the admin there clearly states it can handle 8.4v (and more) without issue.

I thought I had read that some folks were using it at 8.4v but I didn't want to say anything without confirmation. When I looked it up in the manual I was surprised by the limit. Thanks for posting that info.
