Finally got my bird back in the air and almost crashed when testing out my rebuild, but I swear it wasn't my fault.
While hovering and doing some slow back and forth trying to get everything dialed in, the heli suddenly dropped about 3 feet. I caught it and was able to level off and land safely but I had noticed something fell off when it dropped. Turns out that one of the ball links popped off my swash plate from the washout arm and hit the swash plate arm causing it to sheer off the anti-rotation bracket. Luckily it didnt totally lock up and tear up the head.

Does any one have any suggestions as to better ball link arms or maybe a stronger anti-rotation bracket. The stock HDX450 bracket is pretty thin CF.

Just a really anoying little thing that will keep me out of the air for several days.:arggg:

I snapped mine off too but it was MY fault and I realized that I had to buy a whole new swash plate to get the anti rotation ball and arm. I used an Align feathering shaft and screwed a bolt into the end with a new ball on the screw. I carefully cut the shaft and the end of the screw to fit, loctite all, and bada bing.

Hope these photos help.

Ooops, I see it's the bracket that broke. Sorry for my bad info.

same thing happened to me on my b400. I'm glad the antirotation bracket broke. Otherwise, I would have had to replace a lot more. My recovery was to hover over tall grass and hit idle hold. The only broken part was the antirotation bracket.

During rebuild, I made sure to locktite those balls.
