Sorry, I haven't even had time to welcome all the new guys aboard!!

*WELCOME*!!

Have at it, don't give up. Once tuned up, this thing is more fun than a bucket of bugs.
Don't be shy about asking for advice, and you lurkers feel free to jump in, this is not the usual bunch of soreheads (we're dedicated soreheads).

Next, I've got three projects I'm working on, lemme know if you're interested.

I wanna build a fire resistant battery charging station to get everything organized, and try to get away from the lipo bags.

I'm trying to figure out an easy way to measure battery performance, so we can get times and volts rather than the usual "it's way better" stuff.

I'm thinking of finishing off the servo & gyro spec list and putting it up as a sticky for the new guys. I talked to Finless about it, if you guys think it's worthy, we'll do it.

Also, Mike told me to offer this up...
Isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) cleans the grass stains off your blades faster than Billy Mays cashes his infomercial checks.
Naphtha (liquid lighter fluid, in the yellow Ronson bottle) will get the velcro gunk off your scissors faster than anything else.
.....I thought everyone knew these....

Lastly, my pyros are getting better, and I did my first rainbow with the 200 yesterday, yeehaa!

Gr4yb3ard,

Thanks for the welcome, I'm one of the newbies that I don't think you've "met" yet...

I am very glad to be aboard, this looks like a great place to hang out!

Now, if the mailman will please bring my package tomorrow....

I'll be in heli heaven!!

USPS tracking info s**ks!! All I know is it left Readyhobby yesterday at 4:45....no updates yet.

Talk to you guys soon enough with questions and comments, not necessarily in that order!

I'm one of the new starters too, thanks for the welcome Gr4yb3ard.

I still don't have much of a clue what I'm doing yet but I'm having a ball doing it.

Nearly cut my own leg off last night last night but... (see below)

Wow!

Three of you guys all at once, and you're all crazed!!
('yer gonna love it here ;-)

And I could comment on all three of your posts as well...

Def. Borominute: those extra long time periods while waiting for heli parts.

As far as baggage goes, gee, I do have an O2 bottle and regulator for my sailplane, but they pressurize to 18,000 and the service ceiling of a 200 is probably not more than 8,000ft, plus it would be about -40 below zero Fahrenheit. All I could do is spin the rotor and make flying noises. I do that in my seat anyway ;-)

Regarding the "Flying Cuisinart" syndrome. I got a 2" scar on my favorite pirate tattoo from a 450 early on to remind me to be careful (it worked).
The little 200 looks cute, but it's a high performance machine, we sometimes see headspeeds up into the 5,000rpm range.
Not to get paranoid, but be careful, and be extremely cautious to keep small children and dogs completely away.
After that, the more divots you dig, the better you get!!! ;-)
