I am about to purchase a Logo 5003D with Hacker Motor/Castle Creation 85HV Esc power set. Flightech recommend either the EVO25 6s or the EVO 30 6s packs but I was wondering if the EVO Lite would be ok with this set up. It can handle 150A bursts so assume it would be fine but wanted to check. Can't get hold of them on the phone!!!
Also what seperate BEC should I go for or can the CC one handle it

Many thanks

Hi Chris,

Edit: Just picked up your answer phone message after i replied to this post, i hope it answers your question?

I use either EVO25 5000 or EVOLite 5350 6s packs in my Logo 500, both are great power and similar duration. i have no preference between the two, infact i have 3 of each. Both balance the heli great, and both fit under the pinion. the 5350 is a little more tricky to put the rubber o-rings over though, but hardly impossible!

As for a Bec, the FlightTech 8AVR and 1600 mAH EVORX pack works great!! This will give at least 3 flights safely. if weight isnt an issue, and you want more flights, the new 3200 RX pack fits great on the back of the frame, and will still balance the heli fine

Thanks

Hi there

thanks for this reply, very helpful. Weight won't be an issue and I have flightpower 2s 2p 3000mah I can fit.
Of interest I plan to fit standard size 9255 servos or would you say this is overkill and I should go with midi (9650 or similar)

servos are never over-kill. You need lots of torque, and more speed. im currently running 8915 servos.

9255 have the right level of torque, but are a little slow. dont expect crack rolls, but it should still be plenty sharp and precise

Hi Chris,

I know you're in the U.K. and product availability may be a bit different, but why not go with a Western Robotics 5/6 V 5 A BEC? It will supply a full 5 amps of current to your servos and radio from your motor lipo. The advantage is that you never have to worry about low voltage, you never have to charge a receiver pack, you don't have to find a place to mount a receiver pack, and you can save several ounces of weight.

I was hesitant at first, but did a search to see if anyone has had any failures. I couldn't find anyone who has crashed because of a failure. (But there were some interference issues with 72 mhz radios. I'm on 2.4) I love the convenience. I've wired my BEC with two plugs. The first plug powers up the radio. The second plug powers up the ESC. So I can do a radio check and setup without worrying about spooling up.:smokin:

Maybe it will work for you.

Keep 'em flying.:YeaBaby:
