While waiting for the last of my parts to arrive, I have been going through my set up, even bought a digital caliper to check ball link rod and top of frame to swash distances. Link lengths are right on and servo arms at 90 degrees. When I check pitch at mid trottle for zero pitch, frame to swash distance is pretty close to 7mm, but per the Gaui 0 degree pitch check, (main blades pivoted 90 degrees, check blades parallel to flybar) looks to be quite a bit negative. I am changing from TT to belt, so have changed the main gear etc..

Only thing I can think of is that I didn't get the main shaft back down as far into the heli as before. Should I just adjust the main shaft until I get level blades with the 7mm frame to swash clearance or have I screwed something else up? It's the same in normal and idle up except idle up has more negative. (Blade pitch doesn't change at 50% trottle when switching between normal and idle up.) To avoid any confusion, I am talking about collective pitch, my trottle curves are very different between normal and idle up.

Any advice from the experts out there is appreciated! And by expert, I mean pretty much all of you since most have a lot more experience than me!:noteworthy

I would get the main shaft right first. When you put the bottom mast collar on make sure to slide it up on the main shaft as far as it will go. The main shaft is shouldered on the bottom and that mast collar should go up against that shoulder. You can push the main shaft all the way down below the last bearing to do this and then pull the shaft back up untill the now attached mast collar is up against the lower bearing. Then you tighten the upper mast collar. Just make sure you don't have to much pre-load on the main bearings when tightening the upper mast collar or the head will bind. You want the head to spin freely and the main shaft to not move up and down.

Rotor, the links between the upper swash and mixer/see saw arms maybe too short if you manage to get -ve pitch at 7mm. Don't pay too much attention to how gaui send the links out. It is possible and should be set up correctly at 7mm. Jetleaf is probably right, it sounds like the main shaft may not be in the right place. Also check that the flange bearings in the CF decks ar pushed in correctly.

Thanks for the input. Out of town for a few days, but did check the mainshaft before I left. It was properly seated. Links are wrong at Gaui's specs. Will finish adjusting them when I get home, but was able to set everything at 0 pitch, mid trottle with 8mm frame to swash distance by changing all three collective lengths. Will probably end up putting those back to spec and changing the two links to the fly bar to achieve 0 degrees at mid throttle and 7mm frame to swash unless someone has a better idea.

Don't know why I thought I could change how far the mainshaft went into the heli!:dontknow

Looks like I need more than the current 60, 60, 60 swash mix if I want vertical links and 11-13 degrees plus and minus collective. HS45s, ar6100, dx6i
