My Bergen Turbine with new style Wren gear box is up and running thanks to the Bergen Team.:clappp I spent the day (9AM to 9PM) with Chris going through my turbine setting up the new engine and transmission and fixing all my mistakes. You know it helps if you mount the auto rotation hub and lower bearing block in the correct position rather then upside down. I'm really glad I bought Bergen and live close enough to visit them. Chris really knows what customer service is and practices what he preaches. While it was a long day, I again learned a lot and left with a perfectly flying heli. The final touches included dynamically balancing the head to remove the last signs of any vibration. It is amazing how putting weights on the flybar can be used to balance the head when a statically balanced head just doesn't cut it in the air.

I have to thank the whole Bergen team, Chris, Larry, Maryann, Todd, Alex and my old Amish friend, Ishmael, for all their help and hospitality. You can't get a better team supporting the hobby.

Ron, I'll have to get the video camera out so we can start comparing notes.

Always good service from Chris I'm sure! Something interesting to me:

The final touches included dynamically balancing the head to remove the last signs of any vibration.

How did you do this? Move around the flybar weight and test fly until you saw an improvement?

Raja,

Yes, you move the flybar weights around. We started with them both at each ends. Then we moved one in 50%. This make it worse, so we put that one back and move the other one 50%, it was better but not quite, moved it out towards the paddles and it got even smoother. Then a slight adjustment in and it was perfect. It took a lot less time then I thought it would. We had teh advantage of a low sun which put reflections on the frame at high resolution so it was easy to see the vibes go away.

Denny22,

No I have the Intrepid Turbine, Pod and Boom. I just rearranged the RX and wiring but haven't had a chance to take pictures yet.. I hope to get some video this weekend. I need to be a little careful with the new engine breaking it in and letting the Fadec re-learn the radio settings and I want to do a bunch of post flights to makes sure everything is tight since I basically took it apart and put it back together at Bergen yesterday. It flies so sweet:happyd

Thought I'd let everyone know that the message I wrote starting this thread that I also posted in RunRyder has ended up getting me inducted into a very elite group.

I am now the latest inductee in the "Banned from RunRyder" club for showing my appreciation of great customer support.

I guess it's no longer proper or appropriate to write a "Thank You" note and publicly acknowledge exceptional support from a vendor.

It is due to the company you keep :YeaBaby:

Now if you crawl back on your hands and knees, beg forgiveness, plead it was due to a brain anurism you might have a chance for a reprive........ might?

I can see you will be losing a ton of sleep..........:arggg:

It may be only time until everyone is banned. :cheers

Apparently Mark has decided that Lou is now a Rep or Sponsored Pilot for Bergen. I am sure that with the amount of money that Lou has spent at our shop this year, that he wishes that were the case...There is no concerted effort on our part to undermine anything to do with RR, at least as far as Bergen R/C is concerned. I cannot speak for any other "disturbed" individuals who have it out for Mark however.

To ban an individual for being happy with the service or product he has purchased and wishes to let that be known is Stupid. He will allow the constant bashing of a company or vendor, including those that pay him $750.00 or more a month for advertising, but if you have something good to say, then you must be a rep....

This is the second time that Mark has decided to promote a customer to rep status for us, but have NEVER seen it done for anyone else with any other Vendor, so his statement of "RR plays fair with all vendors." is a total fabrication. Feel free to tell the world how much you appreciate the great customer service from Align, from Airstar, or you could probably even say you had great service from Neil Key without getting banned...:) (the common denominator is all three of those companies were welcome on RR at one time but have been asked to leave or left of their own accord, being fed up with the BS, I am in no way comparing customer service or products from one vendor to another)

Since Mark is only going to shut down any threads concerning this discussion on RR, I suggest you bring it up with him personally at IRCHA or any other FF you may attend this year.

This is not meant to start a RR bashing thread, only to post a warning for any of you here that may wish to also post any positive notes about Bergen on RR may get YOU banned as well.
