Was just out flying on lunch, couldnt have asked for a better day to fly and had a battery failure and then the aileron locked up sending my T-rex dressed in the Army 500E hard into the ground on its side, the blades sheared off and them along with the fly bar took most of the impact with light road rash on the side of the fuse, could have been 10 times worse considering how hard it hit. I hope no one ever hears that nasty sound of a fuse hitting concrete lol

Have you found that the dark solid color makes it harder to stay oriented? That is the only reservation I have with the Army or dark HBPD color scheme. I'm wondering if the larger body makes up for the darker color for visibility and orientation.

Yeah, at the one park we fly at you have to fly above the tree line or your gonna have a hard time seeing it in the pines and stuff, if your flyin side to side its not bad cause you can see the red stripe on the tail tube

i have the same heli, a couple of weeks ago the tail servo rod got jammed and melted the servo draining the battery, the motor quit at about 50-60' and it was totally unexpected, auto'd down with no damage apparent at first. The wooden frame mounts to the 450 had cracked and when i flew it again they completely broke and i got it down without damage, but i had bent main and feathering shaft from the vibration. Now flys on rails, everyone loves it that sees it fly. Ron

I saw the Align MD500E for the first time in person today at the LHS. It was A LOT bigger than I expected. Very happy with that as I always wished my 450 was a bit bigger to make it easier to see. Can't wait for it to arrive. Should be in by tomorrow.
