Hi,
I just got a Hughes 500E unpainted version 30 kit. But I have problem figuring out how to get the skid into the body as the skid is all mould 1 pieces and cannot bend, then how it get into the body.

I got the same problem and I think the instruction is not correct.
I decide to mount underneath of the body instead of inserting into the body.
guys you do attach underneath and not through the holes. although the 500D appears as if they come through the holes. go figure.
happy building

Actually you do mount them on the inside. the instructions leave a lot to be desired. The back one can be wiggled into place. The front is harder to get in. On one of the pictures you will see some slight stress cracks from me trying to get the front one in.
spidious , wow that does looks good .
I just can't believe that they would make such a task out of the skids.
I tried to get them through on several ocassions but thought it was going to break and finally put them on the out side. one other structural benefit is that I attached the skid braces through the body of the mechanics and now it is a rock solid structure.ie no stress on the actual body.
Pic doesnt show it exactly but you get the idea.
