Well in addition to the New Logo 400 as we all know eventually coming out, it appears a few new things are coming out as well. In cruising the Mikado site as I do off and on I noticed these.....
Herring bone main gear 106 teeth M1 (http://mikado.e-vendo.de/e-vendo.php?shop=k_mikado_e&SessionId=1928x0d7ad617866da58369334380eccef707&a=article&ProdNr=04183&Back=New items in our shop&ActionBack=NEWS)
Hauptzahnrad 106 Zähne Modul 1
Item no.: 04183
Module 1.0 Herringbone, now that is beefy! Have not had any issues to speak of with mod.7 however with the NEU 1912(H)-1Y for example being a monster this might be an option, "IF" there is a 8 and 9 tooth HM mod 1.0 pinion.... we'll see. Anyhow I guess great to have more options...
Also in a guess, I am thinking Mikado must be entertaining a 90 stretch kit for the 600... maybe??
Driven belt 788 XL (http://mikado.e-vendo.de/e-vendo.php?shop=k_mikado_e&SessionId=1928x0d7ad617866da58369334380eccef707&a=article&ProdNr=04163&Back=New items in our shop&ActionBack=NEWS)
Zahnriemen 788 XL
Item no.: 04163
Of course this is not out yet, but I can't wait!
V-Bar Control Panel (http://mikado.e-vendo.de/e-vendo.php?shop=k_mikado_e&SessionId=1928xc0036e05fbed6c70fa1183c679812d90&a=article&ProdNr=04152&t=3021&p=3021&c=3021)
V-Stabi Bedienteil
Item no.: 04152
Hmmm, well anyhow, still all cool stuff. If I can find out more I'll let you all know, I just thought this was all interesting.
:P
Mod 1 main gear is for the big power motors, its nearly essential for hardcore 3D on the new ET motor. Saying that, i'm having success on the Mod0.7
Always great new stuff from Mikado

Don't forget the new V-Bar hardware. In my e-mails with them they say that even though the hardware will be a bit different than current units, it's due to lowering cost and increasing reliability. Still trying to figure out availability (late this month I think) and cost.

I heard there was going to be a change....does anyone know anything about it?

Mikado changed manufacturers with the goal of lowering cost and improving reliability. No new features though.

That would be fantastic. I've looked into getting the parts, but postage costs were always prohibitive.
Only thing is, presuming it uses the same frames as the logo 5/600 will it really be possible to get a large enough battery in there? I'm running 9s2p A123 in my logo and getting about 8 minutes sports flying. I hear of people running 12-15s and 5000-8000mAh in their jokers and I would be surprised if it's possible to shoehorn that size battery in there, even using LiPo.
I asked a while back whether the 500 frames were over-engineered on the grounds that if they were strong enough for a 600 then they must be too strong for a 500. I find myself wondering a similar question re. the 700
If they are making a tail I will probably upgrade because I would like a longer tail anyway to get a more neutral balance point.

I think you are misunderstanding this. It is not a new heli, only I am thinking boom, belt, boom supports and longer cf pushrod, that is all that is required to make the 600 into a 90 sized machine. Now the length of the boom would only be a few inches longer actually so not all that much would change. The stock 600 can accomadate 640mm main blades as it is, we are only talking 50 more mm needed here to accept 690s' which are standard 90 sized machine blades. The frame on the 500/600 is identical, same frame all together. The battery bay is huge, larger than any I know of, it sports the FP 5350mah 10S1P pack without issue and room to spare. You would have to look into the size of your configuration, I do not use A123, emoli cells and all that to know their sizes and weights etc....

If u are using 9s2p thats 18 cells. SO why wouldn't you get in 15s1p? Get my point? ;)
A 14s1p A123 Setup would be nice...

No, I get that. I also know that people are stretching their 600s to 700s successfuly without changing other components (e.g. the head). But saying that it is the same helicopter is no more convincing than saying that the 500 is the same as the 600. There is a lot of commonality between parts but in terms of scaling they're quite different and nobody would claim that they're the same helicopter.
With a 788xl belt, I think you should be able to physically fit 710mm blades. From reading around, if they wanted to fit only 690s they would only have needed to go for a 770xl belt or similar.
600 (what I'm using now) to 710 may seem like a small increase, but proportionately, it's similar to 500-600mm. People generally seem to be running the logo 500 on a 5-6s 4000mAh but realraptors.co.uk suggest 10s 4350 for the 600.
Scaling laws would suggest that increasing a helicopter dimensions by 20% whilst keeping all else equal would lead to a 170% increase in weight (1.2^3*100). This is obviously a simplification - if you compare my T-Rex 450 to the logo 600 using this formula, it would suggest the logo should weigh in at 5kg, which is slightly heavier than the 3.6kg that it actually weighs, but not all that far off. My battery packs for the logo are exactly 6x larger than for the T-Rex, which fits the formula predictions exactly. As the flight times are similar, presumably the power draw follows the scaling law reasonably closely too.
Proportionately, one might expect a 700 to take 17s 4350 or 10s 8000. As far as I can make out, people are mostly running 12S 5000 on their Ion X2s which is something below this.
I guess it's all down to flight times. I realise that I could make a 14s1p A123 pack but it would be smaller than my 9s2p pack, and although performance might be comparable, I can't see that it could have the same endurance.

Ahh ok well,,,,, with the super light disc loading I think many would be suprised how well a stretched version will perform all around. I have seen several vids and talked to several peeps who have done it with fantastic results. I myself will be doing a stretch project soon :), just waiting for all my misc parts to arrive.

So, let me pose a question. I've been told, over and over, that a "90 size" wouldn't work in electric, so no one will ever do it...
Yet, for the 90 size, it's got around 700mm blades. So, if you stick 700mm blades on a Logo, what's the difference between this and a "90 size".
Sounds like a great project for a camera ship, too...
TIA,
John

Who told you that? The IonX-2 is a 90 size, the only thing that makes it a 90 is the blade and boom size i guess, maybe propertionally everything is bigger but the boom on a logo 600 is as thick as a 90 size one anyway

I've heard (correct) objections that the battery would be expensive, but I've never heard that it 'wouldn't work'.
I think the bigger the better when it comes to helicopters. If someone made a 7kg (i.e. just legal) electric helicopter at a reasonable price I would be very sorely tempted.

Does this mean we will be seeing Logos made in China soon?

They said the VBAR units are being made in Germany still but by new manufacturer
