I have been trying to figure out a good RX protection method and wondering about any affect on range with my newest idea.
The idea is leave my AR7000 RX in the protective foam block that it comes in from the factory. I do trim it a bit so it's not the size of the original box and I do trim the thickness again for the same reason. The foam pouch keeps the RX snug, the antenna wires are buried in the foam, the foam will stick to Velcro and it makes a clean package.
So the big question is......With everything wrapped up in the foam will range be diminished? I do have the remote RX out in the open as it is placed on the side frame so I'm not concerned about that RX getting signals.
