As you may recall from my Maiden Flight thread I was having some problems in the drivetrain; LOTS-O-WOBBLE! Isolated it to the swashplate and the replacement arrived only I was away on business, just returned, got the Gaui all re-setup and SUCCESS!!! :banana:banana:banana

Still a little wobble on the initial spin of the entire helo up BUT you can see the swash is perfect, no problems there whatsoever. The old unit really wobbled with nothing attached, no doubt the bearing isn't seated straight or something along those lines. I suspect the kit I received was an EARLY version of the Gaui kit and as I learned there were some known issues with some parts including the swashplate so...

I also switched gearing; now a 15-20-50-61 (the later being a Microheli gear) and the bumped up head speed really helped with stability IMHO. Still using the stock Gaui 1100kv Super-Pig motor, hope to get a Z20A-980 at some point. I did one punchup and MAN, no loss of tail control or position at all, DIALED IN my friends, love it!

Still doing some tweaking and tuning but overall she's a different helo with a proper swashplate, different gearing producing higher headspeed numbers, NICE! My Gaui just seemed sluggish in the 17-1800 rpm range but I know not to be pushing above 2k without doing some upgrades as well.

Next will be carbon blades if and when they arrive, can't wait to test these buggers out!

Happy Flying! :cheers :cheers

glad to hear the swash took care of the wobble.... it's normal to get some wobble during spin up... that's the blades getting set and straight

Drew...Great to hear it fixed the problem.....as mystic said...a little wobble is normal....make sure your blades are perfectly in track also...so you don't get any vibs in flight....

I installed my new cnc tail with the trex hub on my Z20 and took it out tonight to dial it in.....no vibrations at all like the the plastic Gaui.....it was affecting the gyro and making the tail swing or pulsate/hunt.... now smooth and steady as a rock.

With all the cnc hubs blowing apart....for $16 the trex 600 tail hub/holders is the way to go..... If Trex came out with a cnc tail I might trust that.....

Sorry for a slight hijack....we go in tantrums anyway....

Hijack on this forum, don't you know the rules, you're SUPPOSED to Hijack these threads! :YeaBaby:

T-Rex 600 tailhub is on the list, I have to pick up parts early this upcoming week anyway so I'll grab one and keep the stocker for a backup.

I ended up flying her 4 times after the 'overhaul' and she's handling a lot better, getting close to the time to take her out to the big local park and let her RIP completely! :clappp

Happy Flying!
