Now THAT was absolutely first rate.
I would pick that up on the newstand without hesitation, excellent work Buzz!!!
Ya know, with the way we all write, and opinions, experiments etc.
Well.... who's got a server? I'd volunteer for a hobby article and an editorial every month. I'll even throw in the adventures of Gr4yb3ard, the Wrong Brothers and start one just for us Helista. No kidding, let's do it.
Somebody go wake Surf up!

I can throw in helista-magazine.com and some hosting (unlimited traffic, 5 GB of space). Additionally, you can get an email address @helista.net which forwards to another email address of your choice.

Oh Man!
This is such a no-brainer.
Who cares if it makes any money (magazines don't usually).
But we could cut up, be obnoxious, dream up cool new heli projects etc.
And what a forum to press GAUI on various issues. The term Gadfly comes to mind right off.
Okay, so here's my vote:
Surf: CEO
Buzzkill: Editor-in-Chief
RotorHead58d: "Operations" (don't ask)
PSindrup: Public Relations & Collections
LittleMan: Team Captain, Testing and Competition
CrabFu: R&D
JetLeaf: Technical Advisor
J-Heli: Asian Office
StoatnChips: European Office
....and so on. I think we've got some talent 'eh?
Let's go!

Awesome!
5hrs 38min, from initial idea to a cover on the internet.
MjBrands, you rock. Obviously, you get the Webmaster title, if you want it... ...and/or anything else you want.
I'll offer up my travel case post as a first-issue article.
I can also put together 1/2 page serialized shorts based on the Helista and Gr4yb3ard, if anyone is interested in bizarre humor. These are along the same lines as BOFH by Simon Travaglia, which I reposted in the States, back 'inna day....
I think I'm good for a technical piece and about a page or so of short story a month. I would plan to get ahead a month, so nobody's waiting on me.

CrabFu: R&D

Ahhhh, if you leave me to R&D, there will be all R and no D.... I'd like to be creative consultant, or crash test pilot or something :)
It is an awesome idea though Buzz, and looks awesome :) helista website should be a website dedicated to 200 and more? :) Seems like we have enough guys here to contribute reviews, mods, tech tips, faq, beginners tips, news etc... I'd be happy to help with graphics & UI.
As I was chatting with buzz the other day, it would be funny to have "Team Helista" having totally "fake" sponsors, by the most absurd companies, like sponsored by "tempax", "shamwow", "viagra", or made up banners like "discounted used blades central" or "underwater heli video equipment" etc.... and if you click on the links, it will be just a be entered into a web counter, to see how many people are actually silly enough to click on them. Most of us are just average pilots, and will never be sponsored... so let's make up some :)
Anyway, all jokes aside, a website would be awesome :)

I like your thinking, CrabFu.

Absolutely!
If we wanted to actually make money, it would be a job.
I'm thinking have fun, attract people to the sport, have a place to express our <honest> opinions on everything.
If the evolving Helista mentality seems a bit rebellious, rambuncios and independent, well that suites me just fine.
Let's just keep it fun and keep it centered around Heli's and the Wolverine in particular.
Who knows, maybe if it gets noticed, we might even get GAUI's attention.

This is awesome! :) I'm in too! We could definitely get the aftermarket manufacturers attention with a magazine, and a website. I love the 'fake sponsors' idea! I'm not sure what I could do as an 'asian office associate' besides browse the forum, read the mag, and the website because everyone in Hong Kong has a 200, but if I could get at least half of everyone in China to buy one, then we'd really be talkin'! :) We're nuts!

Sounds like a plan :).... although i think Pete needs to join me here in the Euro zone, far to much for 1 Mustelid to handle... maybe chuck in some technical jargon and get on my soapbox from time to time too.

Holy crap, I didn't expect this reaction. Great ideas. I'm stoked.
Anyone good with graphics and such? I really suck on Paint Shop Pro. Took me a couple hours (while the meds where kicking in) to do that one page lol.
Any web designers in the group?

Any web designers in the group?
I've made a few simple websites, but Crabfu's skills and mjbrand's skills easily dwarf mine. Plus, I don't have the resources to make a website for another month or two.
On another note, I could also review the electronics, upgrades, etc. that are able to be used on the 200, and leave most of the other flight tests to littleman and the others. I think we should really follow up with this. Maybe we could do a bi-monthly publication instead of monthly so that we don't eat up too much of our stick time. Just a thought. :)

Mind? Hey I'm honored.
Who's gonna head this thing up? Someone needs to organize a game plan for the first issue.
mjbrands: Can you set up an e-mail account for the mag so people can submit material and ideas? Maybe a central melting pot kinda thing?
CrabFu: We're pulling you in wether you like it or not. Cancle a couple of your mad scientist ideas and slate some mag time for us.
Gr4y: I know your material is first rate. Especialy the battery testing your doing. Some "real" content like that along with the goofy stuff we're gonna put in would be a great mix.
Small: Your see-saw mod and anything else your doing (pics & detail) would be out standing.
Rotorhead54d: Classified, don't ask.
Littleman: Have vid cam? I know we could embed some vids. Pics and reviews/opinions. Hell if this thing works I'll have my Grandma knit you a Helista competition shirt lol.
Stoatnchips/Psindrup: You got the European Office.
J-Heli: Your heading up the Asian office.
BuzzKill: Find your meds.
Everyone I missed: Submit your pics, vids, questions, comments, graphics, reviews and general mayhem.
Who knows what we could do with our collecive talents. (see previous thread" We're taking over the world")
OK that's my $1.50.
Just suggestions.

Sounds great. Peter and I could also be the photographers. Anyway, if there's anything I can do, just let me know. :) I also think we should all get email addresses ...@helista.com or something so that people who read the mag can send us personal emails about our articles, hints, tips, tricks, etc. as well as a melting pot kind of thing like Buzz mentioned (hint, hint nudge, nidge mjbrands :) ).
