Hi guys,
I have a bog standard Belt CP. Suddenly the tail servo won't work and is not being initialised.
The Giro (EK2-0704) has a red light and bleeps three times then starts to blink. I have tried changing the servo but with the same result !
Can anyone help? is it a problem with the giro? If it is the giro and I need to replace it should I go for the head hold type, and will it just plug straight in etc.
Grateful of any help.
Regards
Rob

Is your rudder trim centered, and is the gyro wire fully plugged in and undamaged? The gyro is failing to initialize, which is usually caused by off-center or missing signal on the rudder channel. The servos are most likely OK.
The beeps are not coming from the gyro - it's the ESC arming itself, and the sound is actually produced by the motor.

Did you plug your servo in correctly @ the gyro. Check your polarity, Black to Black etc.

Thanks for your help guys.
I have checked that the tail servo is centred and that the servo is wired in correctly, all appears to be correct.
So I guess that's me up the creak without a paddle ! Any advice as to what I should replace first.
Cheers

It sounds to me like the throttle is on while you are initalizing the gyro. make sure your throttle trim is at the lowest position as well as the stick. Also make sure your Idel switch is off(in the up position).

The servo will appear centered even if your trim is a little off - could it be possible that you have accidentally nudged the trim slider a little? You could try centering the slider as perfectly as you can by eye, then going click by click in each direction and trying to initialize the gyro at each position. It's easier to find center with a HH gyro (you can watch for creep) but it's not a big range to try until you're clearly off. Of course, be very careful to keep the helicopter level and perfectly immobile while the gyro is initializing.
Sometimes a gyro can just go bad and will no longer initialize - but it's very rare if it didn't start with a good crash.

Thanks Heli Yea,
Have check throttle stick position and trim all are down, the Idel switch is also off.
So frustrating ! All was normal, shut the heli down disconnected battery then switched off TX, so nothing unusual. Then tried to start up again, now this!
Mybe I should just bite the bullet and order a new gyro !

Another_finn,
Excellent advice, that did the trick. My tail trim was one click off the centre position ! I centered it as advised and sure enough the tail servo initialised :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:
What a great site, and superb advise. Without it I wouldn't have a clue.
Ready to fly again :lolol:lolol
Cheers

Glad you got it sorted. We're so used to tweaking and tuning, it's usually the simple things that get us
