Hi all
few days ago
I saw in the Viseo area
a wild "lightened" Stratus piloted by Matt Botos
Anybody know where is it possible to buy
the complete screw set for my STratus?
Please help me to find a shop
Thank you very much

Most of the screws and nuts came from a high performance motorcycle supply shop, the other parts were custom made.
try www.racebolts.com
be forewarned they are EXPENSIVE!!
$1.30 and UP for single fastners...

I think I recall Matt saying he got them from a Lunsford Titanium....... . They had a website. His canopy even says Lunsford. I asked him what it meant and he said Lunsford Titanium where he got his screws.

The 3mm stuff comes from lundsford racing. The 5mm stuff comes frome racebolts.com. I just asked Matt at Mullberry. I would like to find 10mm titanium drill rod so I can make mainshafts.

Matt said he saved 2-2.5 ounces with the titanium bolts, he was using regular nylocs. He said the titanium bolts weigh exactly half of what the regular bolts weigh. The cost is about 250.00.

He also said the titanium mainshaft saves 2 oz. If anyone knows where to find 10mm titanium please post as I have the equiptment to manufacture mainshafts.

You can get SAE rod from smallparts.com . Though it's a ***** to machine, you could get a 1/2" piece and precision turn it down to 10mm OD. It's unlikely that an as delivered "10 mm" OD would be in tight enough tolerance to be a precision fit in the mainshaft bearings anyway.

Ben is right, you have to buy oversized rod and have it ground to size. And it will not be cheap. Tony Owens, "Misskimo" on this board had a bunch made up a year or so ago, it might be possible to get him to help get more, and if enough people got together, a quantity could be produced for decent money...
