Impressed with friends 700 maiden today.

Probably just an optical illusion but the 700 looks small next to the Aurora. FWIW I compared the 600n frames and the 700n frames at my LHS today and they are almost the exact same size. The 700's are just a hair taller.

The 700 looks like another 600. The Aurora looks like a 90. I think it's the stubby 700 canopy.

the gap between the aurora frames was alot slimmer than the 700.

This 700 weighed 10.5lbs with a 4200 something, lipo though with header tank full only and ar7100

What size tail blades come standard on the 700? In that side by side pic those 710's look awfully close to the tail blades.

the 700 does look small next to the aurora. I think the 700 needs a canopy redesign, the 600N and aurora canopy's look way better. I have seen 700s fly in person, and they are SWEEET, despite it looking small.

I was told by making the frame smaller it is lighter..?? also the wide frame design was to make it more stronger in case of a crash?

I am seriously thinkin of getting a trex700 or a vibe 90..now very confused.

I hate the trex700 canopy..the reason why people fly 90 is also due to the fact that it is big..the canopy looks ugly..why can't they just make a better looking canopy..

the canopy looks better than the vibe 90

also I would go with the 700, as it is cheaper, and the vibe has a front mounted fuel tank, so the CG would change alot from beginning to end of flight.

I don't have an A$%&A to compare but here is a 700 side by side to a Fury. Sorry again for the crappy camera-phone quality.

Blade Grip height: same on both
Boom Lenght: the 700 actually has a shorter boom but the frame mount comes out further than the Fury making the effective tail lenght about 1cm longer measured from mainshaft to tail output shaft.
As far as overall apearance..yes the Fury looks taller but it only because of a much larger profile canopy. The relative points in space(x,y,z) bladegrips, mainshaft tailrotor are identical except for the 1cm lenght on the 700 tail.

Anyone complaining about the 700 canopy being smaller..is it just for fashion or do you have a technical reason? I personally think a smaller canopy would be better because it offers less aerodynamic resistance. Less resistance should make it less effected by wind and fly faster, more efficient and with more effective power in flight.
