Well flew the motor some more and I can say it is very impressive. Cool, powerful, and efficient. That is the best 10S motor I have run.
I was going to get some video, but I had a minor mishap. I had a lockout and when returning it had a hard landing. I need to fix a few things and I will get some Video when I can get some time and the weather is good. Guess it is time to get the RX checked up and swap the BEC. First problem in several hundred flights so no big deal, just need to find the cause.
12S would really be a rocket. Just to get the drive train to hold up to the power so it is usable :)
Question for you guys running the Neu on 10S....Are you running stock Hacker two stage gearing? What kind of flight times are you getting? Thanks!

Thanks man!! I think I'm gonna put one of these together in february. I love big bonuses!! What gearing are you using and what flight times are you getting on 10s?
I would love the power of 12s but I can sacrifaice a little power for more time in the air.

I would still do the 8 minute rule that Chris suggest with the actro 32-3 , they say this Nue motor is better on the system , so Im thinking you will see a tad bit longer flight times , I bet hes running the 55t on there as well , stock gearing , higher headspeed , but Eric know that

50T. I just run about 7-8 min and take it easy on my batteries. It really depends on flying styles though. I think Chris will have some FDR data as I did not do that yet. The packs I am using where from Jan and have around 150 cycles on them. I know they are not as punchy as they where but they are still trucking along fine.

Sorry to keep pestering... So everything in the drive train is stock and you use the 50T secondary gear right? Is there a kit included pinion? Does the Nue mount the same as the Hacker? Are you flying the Radix blades on your Ion? And finnally, how does the 10s powered 1521 Ion compare to your Stratus?
I am wanting to compete in FAI class I with this bird. I would still like to do some moderate 3D from time to time but is not the priority with this bird. I want good flight times with reasonable power. This sounds like the ticket.

Expect the Radix blades to drop 2 to 3 amps off the current figures of a set of SAB's in the same length or 5 amps off the same length pair of V2's. I ran three pairs of those blades back to back to back at IRCHA SE and that's what we saw. All blades were 710mm.
The 48 tooth jack shaft gear will add about 80 rpm to the headspeed figures of the 50 tooth gear. I'd expect another couple amps of current drain and a corresponding reduction in flight time...although this will hardly matter.
With a Tempest head, I believe the setup would do well in competition.

A lot also depends on batteries. On 12S it would be a rocket..... With the new 10S packs it will fly very strong.
Electric is different than nitro. It is hard to compare really. They are similar in power, but different.

:noteworthy I got the chance, no I say the privilege to fly Bobby’s Ion with his new set up One Word (WOW) that thing rocks. I am serious thinks about getting one for all you who don’t think eclectic has power ck his new set up out. I was a bit nervous, not sure if was because I was flying someone else’s Helo or holding the 14mz. Maybe it was the JR in me was resisting the Futaba force. Get with bobby on his set up he was laying the smack down, its a little dif them my T-rex
