I finally have the new 1521-1.5Y motors in stock.

Hi, I am new to Heli's having just mastered a Trex. I am putting together a Ion-X.

How/where can I order the Neumotor for this heli. I live in Australia

Thanks for any help.

The NEU motor looks like the ticket. How much more power can I expect over the stock Hacker motor. I would still be running the 10s4p setup.

Actually Skippy the Neu has more Torque over the Actro on 10s when you are doing 3d maneuvers the Neu is like having a governer

Tony is right. Power is about the same on 10s4p.

Speaking of 10s4p, has anybody tried using two of the new single 10s2p-4200 Pro Lite packs in parallel in an Ion? In everything else we've tried, the 2100-based PL are a ton stronger than the 2000- or 1320-based packs, and it looks like fitting them wouldn't be a problem. I'll have to add this to my neverending "to-do" list... :D

[quote="GGoodrum"]Tony is right. Power is about the same on 10s4p.

I have alot of flights on my Neu and i personally dont think the motors are the same. When you start loading the head up the Neu keeps a real consistant head speed were the 32-3 will lay down

The 5s4pTP PROLITES 5300 cells are the Ticket they are very light and i can get 4 to 5 minutes of hard 3d

I will be trying 12s2 p4200 Prolites this weekend in my other ION

My 2 cents

Bobby - have you run the 5300's with a 32-3?

The 10s 4200's are just soo pricey. Although I can still use them in the L14.
So much I want and so little cash. :arggg:

The NEU motor being a little more efficient and larger in size than the Hacker, does it still require a cooling fan? What secondary gear is everyone using? Also what secondary gear would you recommend.

I have ordered both the NEU 1521 1.5Y and the 1521 2.0Y, and will make some experiments this spring on the Ion-X with 12S only, and at own risk, as I will only use 12S from this season on my big heli´s.....Maybe I will melt some gears before I find the optimum setup for me.

If 100% throttle curve on 12S with a NEU 1521 1.5Y motor is too much rpm for the first gear, then maybe a 70 or 80% or maybe 77% throttle curve will be what it takes to get max power out of the 1.5Y motor without melting any gears?

Maybe the 2.0Y motor shows to be the best for me to use, time will show.

Know the NEU 1515 2.0Y motors from my e-Raptors and XeroG, and I think it is a better motor than the original Ion-x Hacker motor.

48 or 50T secondary gear, no fan necessary so far.

 Think the top one is the horniest one.

It is just an experiment, want to test if I can make some small motors for my T-REX  So far they seem to like each other......

Now the 1521 is in the Ion-X where it belongs....just waiting for a regulator, some gears and a new battery.
