*UPDATE: With all the pledged parts and the cash we have gathered - we will be able to finish this now - It will be after Thanksgiving before it will be built up, some parts will be coming "hand delivered" during that time :D I will update this thread as soon as parts come in and when we are ready to drop it on Nic's lap :D:D - Thanks so much to all that pitched in - Jim*
Hi guys, my name is Jim Innes. I am president of the Utah Helicopter Association (www.utahheli.com). We have ayoung member (13yr old) named Nic. He is very passionate about flying and burns more fuel than the rest of us combined sometimes. Anyways, we are going to surprise him before Christmas (Dad, dont let him read this post, hehe)with all the parts needed to upgrade his very aged 30 to a 50. We have come up with the motor, pipe, motor mount, and fan. My request here is if any raptor guys here have used or not in use versions of the below parts that they could sell us at a discount or donate to him as well, let me know. I think we have done pretty well with what we have gathered, but the local guys dont have much else. Here is what he needs to finish:
-50 size tail boom
-Main gear 85T
-Pinion gear 10T V2
-White auto gear
I think that is it, we have like $40 in donation money from the local guys to go towards this and would gladly pay for the parts. Thanks for reading, and if this post bugs you, sorry. When Nic finishes the upgrade - I can post pics here. He will about die when he gets this (I sure would of at his age!!)
