So FINALLY I get the call from my lhs to go pickup my 200 since they were shortening and redoing servos for me. I butchered the shortening process pretty bad so I need some practice before I try that again. Get the bird in my hands to find out they completly did not do what I asked. Gyro, receiver, esc, all mounted in the places I told them I didnt want them, and to top in all off when I get it home and get everything rewired, my pitch servo is going in and out of contact, something must be messed up on the wire, and the gyro wires positive lead popped out of its plug.
Now here is my issue. The positive wire on the gyro lead that heads back to the tail servo is out of its end. The gyro lead has one of the ends on it that is like a female so that the tail servo can plug into it. I cant get that to come apart so that I can re crimp it. Any ideas? Or can this be purchased? As for the pitch servo going in and out, Im just gonna have to try my hand at recrimping it.
Lesson learned, dont let someone else work on your heli unless you sit and watch them. Money poorly wasted.
On the brighter side, atleast my new 200sd is back in my hands. Now I gotta make it fly!

the only thing i can suggest is to post some pictures of your problem areas. we would be able to help you more if that were the case. try and be a little more descriptive about the problems you are having. we want you to enjoy this heli as much as we do. do you know anybody in the r/c hobby besides the hobby shop you took it to?

don't be shy about telling us what's wrong. if you screwed up, fine. no one on this forum will look down on you for it, trust me.

Well yes I do. In fact I just left our weekly fly to pick up my heli from the LHS. There is a group of us here. Sorry if my description wasn't that great. Ill try to snap some pictures. I know you guys love this thing and so far I really dont have any real issues with this heli.

Here is the pics of my problem spot and just a shot of my setup. As for the pitch servo pretty sure im just going to have to open it up. Def need some ideas for this gyro lead though.

You can get that connector apart. I always use an exacto knife. If you look carefully you will see three little indentions on one side of that connector. There are three corresponding locking tabs inside, that lock the connector when it is inserted. Slide your exacto in between these locking tabs and the connector that has your wires running into it. You have to get the exacto blade between all three of the tabs and the connector and then you slide the connector and exacto out of the housing together as you will be holding them both with the same fingers. BE CAREFUL or you will cut the $hit out of your fingers because the exacto or the connector can slip as you are trying to slide the both of them out at the same time. You have to use a little force cause it's a tight fit.

What Jetleaf suggests is much safer with a small 1-1.5 mm wide flat-bladed screw driver.
Btw. where are you going to put your battery now? It looks like you will have to make a battery tray.

Thank you. And yes mjbrands. My battery will be mounted just like on the rex. Im actually using an old trex battery holder with some shims and longer m2 nuts to thread into the frame. That will hold the battery up until I get some aluminum to make my own battery mount. should help fight the tail heaviness and will also bring the battery closer to the cg.

Don't forget to change out those servo arms. The're too short.

Whatta bunch of Muppets!!! I would be back in the LHS, demanding they put it right... on second thoughts would you want to let them 4r5e it over again?!?!? If you look at the tiny metal connector, you should see a little spigott that points backwards... can't you just tweak this up and re-insert it into the connector? If not i would cut it off and replace it with a new connector. If you're not confident about doing it yourself, then i'm sure one of these freaks would help if you sent it in a padded envelope.... I'd offer but the UK is too far. As for the Elevator servo, redo that connector too or solder on a new cable which is fitted with a conector already.

I know what you mean. I honestly cant believe that he half assed my heli this bad after the amount of money I have spent there. Im on a first name basis with all of them and even fly with the guy and all his advice has been priceless. I think the fact that his new 700 was taking up all of his build time this week made him half ass my bird so he could get back to his own. It basically has made me point all of my purchases away from there. Unless I need a last minute part or repair, my purchases will be offline.

Go buy a crimper (<20$), a wire stripper and some male and female servo plugs available from many online vendors. If you can't figure out how to use them, take them to your LHS and get them to give you a lesson. They owe you that much. Guarantee you'll use them if you stay with helis.

I actually have a set, and butchered my first attempt on my servos which is why it ended up in the LHS to get fixed and setup the way I told them. Looks like Im gonna need some practice seeing as how bad they screwed up my heli for me.

I just did all mine on Friday with a set I got from HansonHobbies. It's time consuming, but pretty easy to shorten all the wires. No problems.
I can't imagine paying someone else to do the job. By the time I drove there, explained it, waited, drove back and forth a few more times I could have done the job myself.
Actually took about 2hrs to do the 4 servos & speed control (couldn't bring myself to cut the $220 gyro wires) as well as final setup.
