Need a swash driver for our Phazor, it's purchase the Mikado version for $52 or try and make my own. What would be wrong with drilling the washout base and tapping it out for a set-screw. Then all I would have to do is cut off part of the washout base arm. Any problem with doing this? Would a set screw hold it in place good enough?

please see here. Apparently it works....but I prefer the mikado swash driver (the vario is also good.)

Yeah, I like what you did with yours. Split it down the middle and clamp it on the shaft.
There's no reason for you to buy the Mikado one. I did it with my T-500 and it works fine.
All you have to do is drill through the middle of the base and tap it and use some lock tight on the grup screw and she won't move. I would do it on both sides though.
Good luck!

Thanks Burg,
It's cheap to use spare part and make it work the way you want. After all it's all about the hobby isn't it?

Mine just has two grub screws in it. I'm not sure if you'll be able to see it properly but the washout base has also been machined as have the mixing arms. They're all Align parts. I've just polished them.
You'll have to ignore the phasing in the pic.lol

Thanks.
The washout base was the same as yours. But i turned it upside down so the swash had the max amount of travel. Then decided to machine it just to make it all look a bit neater.
I'm building the Rotorworkz HFX 600 which will be flybarless aswell. But i've ordered the Logo T-rex 600 flybarless conversion kit for that one.

This upgrade includes all the parts necessary to convert your current T-Rex 600 Electric or Nitro rotor head to a flybarless configuration.
It uses your stock head block, but includes new main blade grips, bearings, spacers, and ball bolts for your swashplate. Please refer to the installation manual below for more detailed instructions.
