I have a OS Hyper 50 with about 3/4 of a gallon through it. I've been leaning the HS needle a couple clicks at a time after the first 5 tanks. But I'm not sure what to look for with the LS needle, it's set at the factory setting.
I'm a planker that's been turned to the dark side but these heli engines are a different beast so I'm a little lost with what to do.
what should I be looking for as far as the low end is concerned?

Take off or run the power up to clear out the engine. Then set it to idle and pinch the fuel line and start counting. If you get to 3 or 4 before it starts to speed up (and die if you keep holding it) then you're pretty close on the low end. If it runs for more than that its too rich, if it cuts off right away its too lean.
Make small adjustments. A little rich is ok but if it coughs and sputtters when you advance from an idle or wont idle for very long without loading up and cutting out, then its too rich.

The speed-up interval can be as low as 2 seconds. That's how mine is set and it runs like a top.

I like the low end to be just lean enough to continuously idle reliably. The old pinch the tubing and have it speed up and peak in about 3 seconds is good.
